#38 – 50 runs in 100 days

27 day, 26 days to go

This afternoon when I looked out I saw snow finally :-)

Tonite I ran 5k and it was a joy compared to Saturday.

Reflective vest, headlight and spikes on and time to run out in the snow

IMG_1197_140113

I realized when I ran on the country road that I forgot to put on the headlight, I guess the snow light up the dark somehow but then there is another dark part where I used my headligt.

#37 – 50 runs in 100 days

29 day, 28 days to go

In the morning I biked to Actic at Delphi and was going to do another full combo. It was time to initialize my swimming goggles

IMG_1191

Today I was not alone and decided to see what total time I would have swimming 400 m breaststroke and it was not that bad, around 10 min even if it was zigzag swimming.

Decided to stay at Actic to do the biking and running, had a chance to check out another gym than the one that I am at.

IMG_1187_140111_1000px

If last week’s combo felt tough, it was not even close to how it felt today. I decided to just bike, no hilly program. To have something positive to say about the running, the total time was under 1 h :-)

IMG_1188_140111_1000px

Time for the running, did not understand this treadmill at all. Thought that Quickstart would do it but had to go and ask for help so I could start to run 5k. Decided to run in a comfortable pace, 6 min/k but let me tell you, my legs felt like lead so I had to decrease the speed to be able to survive this.

The last 700 m was the longest in history, to get this over with fast I increased the speed to 6 min/k and the total time today was 32.06 :-)

IMG_1190_140111

You cannot see this in this picture but I am sitting down

Was glad that I was exercising indoors when the weather has been like this today.

The rest of the afternoon will on the couch watching cross country skiing competitions

30 day, 29 days to go

Second run in the evening was with a faster pace.

Decided to run 1.5k and ran the first 1k with a pace of 5 min/k and then then ran the last 0.5 k with a pace 4.36 min/k and then there it came again, the classical dyspnea. I have started to get used to it :-)

Here I am with a sweat and breathless

#35 – 50 runs in 100 days

30 day, 29 days to go

My training week did not go at all as planned when I woke up Monday morning a the flu, so no physical training Monday evening. I was up and running Tuesday but my stomach has not been in full balance til today.

Skipped running yesterday so had to come up with a alternative plan to not get too far behind in the challenge. The typical weather this week has been rain and rain and rain. When I woke up in the morning it looked like it good be a no rainy day but that changed at lunch time.

So the weather is not going to stop me from running so it would be treadmill training instead of running outside.

IMG_1183_140110_1000px

Started with 5k in a slow pace 6 min/k.

IMG_1184_140110_1000px

Rested a few minutes before it was time for the second run for the evening.

#34 – 50 runs in 100 days

36 day, 35 days to go

Biked to Delphinen to swim 400 m, the water was cold and then I know that it will be colder later this year. I asked a girl if she knew how long the pool was but she did not know but I guessed it was 25 m so 16 laps. Now I was the destroyer, it was 4 lanes and 4 were already swimming. Chose lane no 1. Started with breaststroke in a slow pace because it was not going very fast in the first two lanes and I just had to do something about that. So I was osciallated between lane 1 and 2 to be able to swim in my pace. Couldn’t forget the comment my brother told me Christmas Eve when I told him I was planning to do Sövde Triathlon sprint, “Sister you cannot swim”. What do you mean by that???? You have to crawl. A long time ago I was going to crawl school so I had to try to crawl and the first time it was a little less than 12.5 m and oh boy how breathless I became, that was tough. I tried it out another 12.5 m later on. Here needs some work if I am going to be able to mix crawling and breststroke in June. I didn’t take the time but swam 400 m. Found out from the girl in the second lane that the pool was 25 m.

Time to bike to the gym and bike 20k and run 5k

IMG_1171_140104_1000px

The biking felt tough from the very beginning. I thought I could choose another program this time instead of Variety but I started with the program Interval but it was no fun and went over to Variety and thought that I could decrease the incline to 14 instead of 18 but when it was time I realized you could not decrease anything just increase it and ended up increment everything +1 so now incline 18 was 19

bild_140104

The total time today was 51.45 min which was a bit faster than last week.

Time for running 5k. I thought I could take it slow and have a 6 min pace but then Suz came into my head and told me “You know why you are here” and it is so true. Had to challenge myself again. So I started with 6 min pace, after 1.25k  increased it to 5.42 min/k, after 1.25k increased it to 5.27 min/k and then at 3k increased it to 5.13 min/k and then at 4k increased it to 5 min/k. It is so interesting how long the last 1k can feel, the same last week. I forgot to see what the total time was this week because I was so tired.

Oh boy was I tired after 400m swimming, 20k biking and 5k running.

What have I gotten myself into

#33 – 50 runs in 100 days

37 day, 36 days to go

IMG_1170_140103

Today I had the pleasure of running with Eva from Coach K Runners. We had talked about running over Nöbbelövs mosse.

So first I ran 2k to St Hans hills to meet Eva and then we ran to Nöbbelöv and around Nöbbelövs mosse, the long way.

We had a nice chat with each other about different things during the run, it was a very nice company.

Weather, a bit grey, wet on the ground but no rain.

Temperature: 6oC (43F)

Unfortunately my running computer froze, stopped at 32.05 min, no pulse and no average speed, so the distance is unknown but I would guess approximately 5k and now Eva has informed me that we had ran 6k when we parted.

#32 – 50 runs in 100 days

40 day, 39 days to go

Last run this year was a sunny 10k run and the sky was blue which is not so common nowadays. It has mostly been grey and rain.

It is hard to believe that it is Dec 31 today when you see this during the run. Where is the snow?

IMG_1156_131231_1000px

IMG_1162_131231_1000px

Today my legs did not feel light but not too heavy either. I enjoyed running during daytime and with the sun out and the blue sky

Temperature: 7oC (45F)

Average speed today: 6.31 min/k and time: 59.18.9 min

#31 – 50 runs in 100 days

41 day, 40 days to go

In the afternoon I ran 10k. The legs felt heavy, I believe I am still tired after Saturday’s combo. I ran my 10k run backwards, this time I did not miss the first left turn on the bike path but then the second time I did a little detour.

The sky was magnificent this afternoon

IMG_1152_131230_1000px

The weather was not too shabby, I had to let some cars pass me by before I crossed the car roads.

Temperature: 6oc (43F)

Average speed today: 6.21 min/k and time: 1.01.44 h

#30 – 50 runs in 100 days

43 day, 42 days to go

Someone has planted a seed in my head, something that I have been thinking I might do but have not move forward.

Biked to the gym in the morning and did a test today

IMG_1142_131228_crop

Maybe you Coach K Runners can see what linen I am wearing, one of the linen in the new collection with the zebra line. I can let you know that it does not chafe. I did another test, wearing my black running shorts and my new linen that might be what I am wearing in June.

I am a rookie but why not challenge myself, this could happen. Chose the program Variety because I believe it will be a hilly during the biking session but this program was mostly hilly, incline between 1 and 18, most of the hills were 10 and 14.

IMG_1144_131228 IMG_1145_131228_750px IMG_1146_131228_750px IMG_1147_131228_750px

The only boring thing with biking at the gym is that you are not getting anywhere but today I was glad I was not doing this test outside.

IMG_1150_131228_1000px

The total time was around 52 min and this year the slowest time was 58 min so there is some hope, the fastest time was 36.49 but I am very sure I will not be among the best. I was quite beat after the biking and the legs felt like jelly.

But I had one more thing to do before the test was over, time to get on the treadmill.

one thing that we hear a lot at the physical training is to remember why we are there, thank you Suz. Started with a speed of 6 min per k (10) but wanted to challenge myself also here. After 1.25k it was time to increase the speed to 10.5, at 2.5k I increased the speed to 11, at 3.5k I increased the speed to 11.5 (5.13) and then at 4k I increased the speed to 5 min per k (12). The run was flat but I suspect it will be a hilly running.

The total time was 28.07 min and the slowest time this year was 37.02 min and the fastest time was 21.31 min and that is not in my league.

IMG_1149_131228

I can say that I was a bit sweaty after this test but I am glad I did it.

It was with heavy legs I was biking home and the rest of the afternoon I will look at the ski competitions

#29 – 50 runs in 100 days

44 day, 43 days to go

The plan today was to run 10k solo but then Karin from Coach K Runners asked if someone wanted to run 10-12 km in a 5 min tempo but I felt that I was not in their league and first said that I can run by myself, it is ok. But it did not take very long to get persuaded.

IMG_1136_131227_1000px IMG_1139_131227

The good thing was that I got out sooner, I have a tendancy to run around 17.30 and now we started at 15.00 and it was much nicer company. We discussed Sövde Triathlon short distance, marathon, Lidingöloppet, Christmas among other things.

So the warriors today was me, Karin and Pierre.

Thanks guys for getting me out as a team :-)

Weather: Grey, chilly and windy

Temperature: 7oC (45F)

Average speed today: 5.53 min/k and time: 59.23.5 min
