#36 – 50 runs in 100 days

This morning it was time for my second Yddingeloppet. I got a ride with Roger. The weather was going to be nice and I was hoping for that too. It would be nice without any rain for a change :-). When it was time to pack my backpack the temperature was 12oC (54F). We who ran Yddingeloppet also got a buff from Bliz that I had planned to wear during the race.

This time I did not forget to bring extra socks and also my dry bag. You never know.

First we picked up our bibs and I have brought my race dots and was hoping they would work much better than Lidingöloppet (at Lidingöloppet I did not succeed with them and used safety pins instead). This time I took off my CKR t-shirt and put the race dots on and succeeded with them. The bib was flat this time.

We met at 10.00 for a group Picture.

New this year was that they had storage tents at the start/finish instead of where we got our bibs. It is positive to have the backpack close to the finish line if you are cold afterwards.

Also instead of everyone starting at the same time you decided if you would run under 60 minutes or over 60 minutes. The decision was easy so prior to the start Roger and I took us to the front of the second start group. Gloves and buff on.

First race with my Fellraisers.

So the race started and at the gate it was much more much airier, a good improvement.

I was not sure how this race would go since I have felt during the week tired after the two tough hilly runs I did last week but was hoping for finish under the time I got last year. Felt that I had fast legs. Last year I used my regular running shoes and it was gooey and I was afraid to run in the goo but now with my Fellraisers I didn’t care. Just ran right through the goo and puddles.

It is also such nice scenery with all the Fall colors.

At 5K I looked at my pulse watch and saw the time 28 min and ran under 60 min at 10K so I might get a new PB this year.

The hills felt easy and really enjoyed all 12k’s, the speed increased in the end. Heard that it was only 500 m left and started to run even faster.

Here I am after the finish line.

I am very satisfied with the time this year: 1.08.58 h, last year I finished with 1.14.25 h. This is the third time I am amazed by myself. It is going in the right direction.
