I ran into a knee issue Saturday during my trail run and decided to rest one day more.
Could have been running yesterday since there was no choir rehearsal but got to the gym instead. I was hoping that this extra day would get my knee in order.
When I biked home I saw on my watch that it was 28oC (82.4F). So it would be warm so mandatory water belt and then running skirt, linnen.
Since me, running and heat are not best friends it was very likely that I would be forced to walk due to the heat. Decided I would try to run as long as I could before I had to walk.
Had a good pace from the beginning and started to feel the heat at around 1K, decided that I would try to run 3K, it was a bit tough between 2 and 2.8K. I almost gave up at 2.5K but my stronger me pushed it. It felt almost like the first time, heavy pressure on my chest, but the difference was that it was the pneumonia lungs talking, it was just because of the heat.
Decided to walk 500 m.
The water saved me tonite, I wet my hair as much as I could and it cooled me down 🙂
Next time I would try to run at least up to 6K, knew that at 5K I would have two up running parts but survived and then I had to push myself 1K more. I hadn’t run into any knee issue.
One guy passed me and looked unbelievable fresh, had a fast pace but it was good to see some other runners suffered as well.
The running between 6.5 and 9.5K was brutal, had to really push it the last 500 meters. Still no knee issue 🙂
Walked 500 meters.
Started running, felt like I had a fast pace but what I didn’t like was that I saw two horses in front of me but going in the same direction. One turned left but then there was one left. I would have some space between, lucky me the girl on the horse noticed me coming from behind and got the horse more to the left and I tried to be as far to the right as I could.
I was suppose to run all the way home after 10K but at 11.28K I had to stop, walk a short distance and then I ran the rest of the way.
No knee issue today and the water was my survival tonite, had to wet my hair and face multiple times during the run and also drink the water.
