Originally I had planned to run this route yesterday but it looked like it was going to rain and it did at lunch time and it was cloudy. I also had been invitied to dinner and was thinking about it and decided that I would run the route today instead, in the morning it was chillier so I hoped that it wouldn’t be as hot as Tuesday but no such luck.
I wore running skirt, linnen, water belt and flipbelt.
Started the run and it did not take long til the heat hit my face. I decided to not look at my watch and instead try to run as long as I could til the body refused to run anymore and I got to approximately to 1K, walked 500 m and then ran again, decided that I would try to run at least 1K and got to 2.5K, didn’t need 500 m walk and started running earlier but would run til 4K, I had to mentally work with myself, part of me wanted to give up but I didn’t give up.
This pretty much sums up the route, if I did not need 500 m walking I would run those extra meters that I didn’t walk.
Wet my face and hair from time to time and drank water.
When I was close to home I decided that I would run all the way, funny how it is a mindset sometimes. You just decide that you are going to do it and then you just do.
Longing for the fall when the temperature will drop and it will be cooler and nicer to run.
