Update

Still coughing but it is my hope that I will be cough free next week.

Too long with any exercise.

Have signed up to Hallandsultran in June which is ? but the big goal is getting ready for Double Death in November when I am going to finish those two laps.

I have started to get back pain so the gym is also something that I need to get back to.

I keep my fingers crossed that I will fine next week so I can head out on my first run, have not done any exercising since Nov 8th, that is the reality so heavy and pneumonia will be a challenge but I am a fighter. It will be a different year for sure.

Update

Yesterday I got an envelope from my doctor with the result of the tests that I did when I found out I had pneumonia.

I got the following result

Best Gabriella
The airway samples taken here were all normal

I got an OK to go on vacation and can start running when I am cough free and feels cold free again. It will be tough but I will make it.

So hopefully I will be back bloging again soon

Update

Here it has been silent for a while.

I thought I would share with you what is going on.

Right now I am taking time out from training.

What happened was that after the Double Death race beginning of November I ran into a cold that turned out to be a LONG one.

I got better and better but between Christmas and New Year’s the cough got worse and felt very different, Cocillana did not help (very powerful cough medicine).

I went to the doctor and found out I had pneumonia.

So when I will get an OK to go back to training I will start my weight journey and prepare myself for Double Death in November.

I will share this journey with you here.

Right now I am just walking down to the train station, walking from the train station to work, have to take the elevator up instead of walking 4 floors at work. I feel much better after 5 days antibiotics cure and am waiting to get back to the doctor to see where I stand.

Hilly intervals

#16 – Transport to St Hans hills
#17 – Hilly intervals
#18 – Transport back to home

IMG_4691_170506

The transport to St Hans hills was heavy today, the pace was 6.30 min/k which normally is a comfortable pace but today I was breathless. I am heavy now and the goal is to loose 10 kg, go under 60 kg this year is the middle goal.

It is tough to do pulse based on hilly intervals so what I decided today was to try to stay below 160, which is my threshold pulse as long as possible and when I hit 160 increase the pace.

This hill that I run on starts flat and then get steeper and steeper, at the end I was breathing heavily, almost getting respiratory distress (=andnöd) so I had to rest at the top to get the pulse down and then run back and wait til I got down to 118 before I started the next interval.

On my first or second interval when I was at the top I saw somenone coming up the short side of the top hill and it turned out to be Tom who is part of Coach K Runners. He was preparing for St Hans Extreme 6h.

I was not sure if I would run 10 or 8 laps but during the run I felt that 8 would be enough today. It is interesting, in the beginning it feels very long til the end but after 4 intervals I was half way and the end was near 🙂

Fun to see Kyrre who was working at AZ when I was working there and Sara. They were getting ready for St Hans Extreme as well. I asked if I still could sign up and it was not too late and the date is May 18th.

Today I did not have the right clothing, could have worn capri tights and lighter socks but I survived because I brough water so I could drink and wet my hair.

IMG_4695_170506

Part of my body wanted to start walking at the end of every interval but the stronger me did not let me do that.

Even if I had a tough time I was glad I did it

And like I have said before, weigh yourself in the morning. Today I weighed myself after my hilly intervals, eating lunch and drinking 3 glasses of water. Picture will come later.

Pulse Based Interval Training

#8 – 50 Runs in 100 days – Spring edition

The plan was to run these pulse based intervals yesterday but we had class I storm warning and I decided to reschedule and run them today.

Lucky me Suunto Customer Service had responded and asked me if I had changed the battery and lucky me I had the correct battery at home and changed it and voilá the pulse belt worked 🙂

It was 12oC (53.6F) so I decided to wear the Fall compression tights, long sleeve, windstopper, hat but no gloves, I get warm during running.

Started my warm up (2K) and already there it was a bit heavy, I have gained a few pounds. I got up to 154 in pulse and had to slow down.

First interval felt tough, I got to 157 (a couple of heart beats under my threshold pulse) and saw that I even got so far as 159. Ache in my stomach. 2K. This interval felt the toughest

First time in a while also that everything worked with my pulse watch.

Felt good with 2 min rest when I was jogging but those minutes was soon over and started my second interval. Even before I got to the up hill part I got above 160, interesting, usually I get around 160 when I run upwards. Up hill worked, did not go over 160. Took some time to get to 157. 2K

I saw Eva Berg, one of my running buddies at her house with some other runners and waved but she didn’t see me.

Felt good with 2 min rest and then my third interval. Was around 155-157. Now I know that it is soon over. 2 min rest.

Fourth interval always the best since I know that this is the last one.

1K cool down.

Part of me wanted to give up and also wanted to walk during the rest but I believe that the best is to jog.

I just have to accept that it will be heavier for some time since I gained a few extra pound during vacation and just prior to vacation as well. It is not going to help to sit at home, better to get out and run and loose the pounds and there will be a time when I will feel lighter and I will enjoy running much more.

Even if it was tough today i did OK.

3.20K Lunch Run

#7 – 50 Runs in 100 days – Spring edition

It was time again for a lunch run, didn’t expect Sara to join me, maybe one day.

IMG_4573_170313

Was a bit cold when I arrived to work so I hoped it wouldn’t be too cold at lunch time since I did not bring with me any gloves or hat. It was a bit colder than Saturday but did not freeze.

IMG_4574_170313

Still a bit heavy but as soon as those extra pounds will get off I will feel lighter and be lighter.

IMG_4575_170313

My pulse belt did not want to be my friend so I tested another app called ”Träning” (=Training) where I had to put in how much I expected to burn ??? Not a app I will use anymore. Not a lot of data was registered. There is another app I will try next time I hope will be a better one.

IMG_4576_170313

Distance: 3.20K, time: 19K

So here is the reality after two weeks vacation, all inclusive, 4 runs

IMG_4565_170313

After a cold and get back running I lost 0.6K

IMG_4566_170313

Looking forward to next week to see how much I will loose.
