I decided to do my 5k run on a treadmill at the gym today as warmup for my back instead of rowing.
The plan was to run in a nice pace but there was someone sitting on my left shoulder reminding me why I was there.
Started with a pace of 6 min/k for the first 2.5k, then for the next 500 m the pace was 5.42 min/k, then at 3k the pace was 5.27 min/k, at 4k the pace was 5.13 min/k and the last 500 m the pace was 5 min/k.
Totalt time 28.44 min
After that I was doing back and shoulder exercises and hip stability exercises.
Oh boy was I glad I didn’t run outside today. I love snow but not this type of snow that we got today.
Unbelievable that I have come up to my 40th run tonite. When I started in November 50 runs felt very far away but I had decided that I am going to make it. Now I can almost see the finish line.
The run tonite was warmup at Newaza consisting of 10 laps around the mat, and 3 rush, unknown distance.
First Newaza this year and it was tough, we had guests coming from BJJ. Too bad I do not have any advantage being a runner. Unfortunately I have someone blocking my way and making it difficult. Very good physical training.
After Newaza this was what I seeing.
And after biking home after Newaza I was covered with snow 🙂
The snow came back, well snow and snow 🙂 I have heard that it is suppose to snow more but it does not look promising. I guess I have to be glad even if it was not much.
When I got outside I was met by a wind but then during most of the run it was not bad.
Tonite I ran 10k, at one point it was a bit slippery even if there was no snow on the ground, hopefully it won’t be icy tomorrow on the roads. I felt the icy cold wind on my cheek.
Weather: Dark, snow powder, cold
Temperature: 2oC (36F)
Average speed today: 6.10 min/k and time: 1.00.6 h
If you look closely you can see the wind grab my reflective vest
This afternoon when I looked out I saw snow finally 🙂
Tonite I ran 5k and it was a joy compared to Saturday.
Reflective vest, headlight and spikes on and time to run out in the snow
I realized when I ran on the country road that I forgot to put on the headlight, I guess the snow light up the dark somehow but then there is another dark part where I used my headligt.
Weather: white, snowy, dark and refreshing
Temperature: 0.2oC (32.36F)
Average speed today: 6.37 min/k and time: 32.11.3 min
In the morning I biked to Actic at Delphi and was going to do another full combo. It was time to initialize my swimming goggles
Today I was not alone and decided to see what total time I would have swimming 400 m breaststroke and it was not that bad, around 10 min even if it was zigzag swimming.
Decided to stay at Actic to do the biking and running, had a chance to check out another gym than the one that I am at.
If last week’s combo felt tough, it was not even close to how it felt today. I decided to just bike, no hilly program. To have something positive to say about the running, the total time was under 1 h 🙂
Time for the running, did not understand this treadmill at all. Thought that Quickstart would do it but had to go and ask for help so I could start to run 5k. Decided to run in a comfortable pace, 6 min/k but let me tell you, my legs felt like lead so I had to decrease the speed to be able to survive this.
The last 700 m was the longest in history, to get this over with fast I increased the speed to 6 min/k and the total time today was 32.06 🙂
You cannot see this in this picture but I am sitting down
Was glad that I was exercising indoors when the weather has been like this today.
The rest of the afternoon will on the couch watching cross country skiing competitions
Decided to run 1.5k and ran the first 1k with a pace of 5 min/k and then then ran the last 0.5 k with a pace 4.36 min/k and then there it came again, the classical dyspnea. I have started to get used to it 🙂
My training week did not go at all as planned when I woke up Monday morning a the flu, so no physical training Monday evening. I was up and running Tuesday but my stomach has not been in full balance til today.
Skipped running yesterday so had to come up with a alternative plan to not get too far behind in the challenge. The typical weather this week has been rain and rain and rain. When I woke up in the morning it looked like it good be a no rainy day but that changed at lunch time.
So the weather is not going to stop me from running so it would be treadmill training instead of running outside.
Started with 5k in a slow pace 6 min/k.
Rested a few minutes before it was time for the second run for the evening.
Biked to Delphinen to swim 400 m, the water was cold and then I know that it will be colder later this year. I asked a girl if she knew how long the pool was but she did not know but I guessed it was 25 m so 16 laps. Now I was the destroyer, it was 4 lanes and 4 were already swimming. Chose lane no 1. Started with breaststroke in a slow pace because it was not going very fast in the first two lanes and I just had to do something about that. So I was osciallated between lane 1 and 2 to be able to swim in my pace. Couldn’t forget the comment my brother told me Christmas Eve when I told him I was planning to do Sövde Triathlon sprint, ”Sister you cannot swim”. What do you mean by that???? You have to crawl. A long time ago I was going to crawl school so I had to try to crawl and the first time it was a little less than 12.5 m and oh boy how breathless I became, that was tough. I tried it out another 12.5 m later on. Here needs some work if I am going to be able to mix crawling and breststroke in June. I didn’t take the time but swam 400 m. Found out from the girl in the second lane that the pool was 25 m.
Time to bike to the gym and bike 20k and run 5k
The biking felt tough from the very beginning. I thought I could choose another program this time instead of Variety but I started with the program Interval but it was no fun and went over to Variety and thought that I could decrease the incline to 14 instead of 18 but when it was time I realized you could not decrease anything just increase it and ended up increment everything +1 so now incline 18 was 19
The total time today was 51.45 min which was a bit faster than last week.
Time for running 5k. I thought I could take it slow and have a 6 min pace but then Suz came into my head and told me ”You know why you are here” and it is so true. Had to challenge myself again. So I started with 6 min pace, after 1.25k increased it to 5.42 min/k, after 1.25k increased it to 5.27 min/k and then at 3k increased it to 5.13 min/k and then at 4k increased it to 5 min/k. It is so interesting how long the last 1k can feel, the same last week. I forgot to see what the total time was this week because I was so tired.
Oh boy was I tired after 400m swimming, 20k biking and 5k running.
Today I had the pleasure of running with Eva from Coach K Runners. We had talked about running over Nöbbelövs mosse.
So first I ran 2k to St Hans hills to meet Eva and then we ran to Nöbbelöv and around Nöbbelövs mosse, the long way.
We had a nice chat with each other about different things during the run, it was a very nice company.
Weather, a bit grey, wet on the ground but no rain.
Temperature: 6oC (43F)
Unfortunately my running computer froze, stopped at 32.05 min, no pulse and no average speed, so the distance is unknown but I would guess approximately 5k and now Eva has informed me that we had ran 6k when we parted.
