#13 – 50 runs in 100 days

78 day, 77 days to go

Today I participated in 1h interval based treadmill session with the great instructor Suz.  The goal today was to challenge myself to run faster than normal. Started with  5min/k and then I was alternating between 5 min/k up to 4.44 min/k. Ran a total of 9.55 k.

This is at the very beginning of the session. We are running with a smile on our faces. The feeling is good, everything is cool. If the question was asked if we were fine, we answered yes, we could even say our name, our age and where we lived.

This is when we are getting closer to the end. The feeling is not so good anymore. Suz asked if we were feeling good and the answer have now changed from Yes to NO with a roar.

Of course we have to have the traditional group picture

#12 – 50 runs in 100 days

79 day, 78 days left

Today I participated in a challenge  – 6h treadmill. Coach K Runners was challenged by a team from Stockholm (Kista), our capital city.

Stockholm (Kista) had 12 ultra runners  and CKR has 9 ultra runners and then relay treamills.

I was part of the relay team, I am not a ultra runner yet but now I have decided that Lidingö Ultra 50k would be my next goal.

I challenged myself and had a pace of 5.36 min/k and the distance ended with 10.7k

After my run I continued as a official, registering the distance on everyone every 30 minutes and filling the ultra runners water bottles and cheering them on.

When it was 5 minutes left I started the countdown every minute

Here is how it looked like when it was 1 hour left

I am proud of Coach K Runners today. We lost against Stockholm (KIsta) but we had a lot of fun. Everyone was allowed to run their own pace and it was a good spirit and a lot of cheering.

Stockholm (Kista) ran a total of 746k and  Lund 675k, 70k difference in favor of Stockhom (Kista).

In Lund the ultra runner Niels Holm ran the longest with 69.6k. In Stockholm (Kista) the Ultra runner Sophia ran 74.5k during these 6 hours. That is really impressive.

The total distance on 14 treadmills in Lund was 791.5k, which for me is an impressive distance.

84 day, 83 days to go

Today it was a perfect day to run a long distance run. Today I ran solo. These days are not growing on trees. The sun was out, the sky was blue and still these spectacular Fall colors. Was a bit windy and some upwind. Gloves and cap on and off. It is also nice to say hi to the runners that you pass during the run and they actually say hi back 🙂

Temperature: 11oC (52F).

Average speed today: 6.06 min/k and time: 1.34.31 h

After the run I drank some chocolate milk instead of gatorade.

86 day, 85 days to go

Today it was running barefoot, as warmup, at the judo mat before Newaza

The runner took over in me, had to pass the ones that was running slower and some of them appearently knew about my running challenge because a comment came when I was not satisfied with the tempo 🙂

Tonite I had the pleasure of running with some Coach K Runners: Mats Johansson, Magnus BuickaMange Johansson and Pierre Unebratt. My plan was to run 10k alone, instead we ran 13.57 k.

I usually do not run longer distances in the evenings in the fall and winter, not longer than 10k normally. Much more fun to run a longer distance with nice company.

Temperature 8oC (46F)

Average speed today: 6.20 min/k and time: 1.26.03 h with photo session included (forgot to turn off the watch before the mandatory photo session)

90 day, 89 days to go

Yesterday I was fed up with the rain and heard that today it was suppose to be sunnier. I decided that if that was the case I would run my long distance run I have planned to run for a while.

This morning it was 5oC (41F) but no rain and then the sun came out.

Finally I could run my 16k run, temperature 9oC (48F), the sun was out and the sky was blue. On road 108 I could see more of the damages that Simone had done.

After the run I could enjoy drinking this milk drink with vanilla taste.

92 day, 91 days to go

Just got back from a 10k run in a typical Lund weather. It was raining part of the run and it was windy. The challenge was to conquer the upwind. The joy of the run was the sun and the really nice orange sky.

My weaker me was trying to win today and if I did not participate in this challenge it might have won.

Average speed today: 5.53 min/k and time: 57.50 min

94 day, 93 days to go

I hate running, in the rain, in the fall and winter. I rather wait it out or might even skip running til it is better weather. But today I had to grasp the nettle (directly translated ”take the bull by the horns”) .

Today I ran 5k. Temperature 9oC (48F) and rain most of the run. Enjoyed running but did not enjoy the weather:

Average speed today: 5.39 min/k and time: 28.52 min.

95 day,  94 days to go

Tonite I tried a new workout called TRX at the sports club where running was included in the exercises. Half the group were using the TRX tool while the other half was doing other exercises with medicine balls, handle bars, hoops and was running back and forth doing an exercise and then running again back and forth. I am sure I will have pain in some muscles tomorrow. It takes some time to get the grip of it to get the maximum out of it.  I am sure I will try it again.

TRX = functional training tool which consists of two anchors. Core stability and strength but also mobility, coordination and fitness
