Double Death

Finally this weekend came when it would be time for Kullamannen, Double Death.

This is the second year that we have headed up on Friday, the day before the race.

I thought it would be better to not have to take the car on Saturday, instead head up on Friday, check in to a hotel, pack up the equipment I would need on Saturday, eat a nice dinner, get to bed early, eat breakfast and get ready for the race, also nice to have someone with me, who are close to me, who would cheer me on during the day. Very appreciated.

This year they moved the start a bit further up because they would renovate the harbour in Mölle so we switched hotel to Grand Hotel, or actually not the main hotel but one of Grand Hotel’s other hotels.

The number bibs got to me before the race so I didn’t have to get it Friday or Saturday. We booked dinner at Grand Hotel, I realized when I got to the hotel that my gloves were at home and hoped that I would be able to buy new ones. They have runner stores who sell things during these race days and lucky me I could buy a pair.

When we walked down to dinner the first 100 miles runner passed the hotel where the loop was so I cheered him on.

It was raining during the evening and I hoped that it wouldn’t be this type of weather Saturday. Kept my fingers crossed.

The dinner was yummy.

Then it was time to head back to the hotel and put the running clothes on the couch, mix the sports drink and charge the batteries for the headlight and also the extra battery for the mobile phone and then sleep.

Woke up the next morning and when we walked to breakfast there were 100 miles runners who passed the loop so I cheered them on.

Nice to see that the sun was out, it looked like it would be a great race day.

Had breakfast with a very nice view. Was nice to sit there and eat breakfast and then breathe for a moment.

I asked the information where the start would be because it was not really clear but now I knew.

When I was heading out from the hotel Camilla P showed up, she would do the Black Course. I wished her luck. While I was waiting for Wille to move the car closer to the hotel, Roger L showed up. He started running the 100 miles but had to throw in the towel. Nice to catch up with him.

I got ready, put on the clothes I would wear and checked that I had everything in my ultra backpack, filled the soft flasks with soft drink and the bladder with water. Stretched.

Got a ride down to Hotel Kullaberg and then Wille would park the car somewhere and hopefully get to the start before the race started. I was walking around the start and saw some familiar runners and talked with them and then Wille showed up

It started to get closer to the start so I I left Wille and got to the start

I would start in the first group and was waiting to get into the corral and also wait for the horse and the pompous music just before the start.

I had said that I would have a great day, no knee issue and I would get out on the second lap and finish this year.

Finally the race began, I realized that I had a good pace from the beginning and was suprised at the narrow part in the beginning that it was hardly any clogging. Here people stop and walk even if it is not even hilly, you can run there and do not need to stop.

It did not take long til the gloves, hat and runner jacket went off, when u get into the nature reserve it gets hilly straight away and u get very warm.

It was a new route this year because the Nimis part had turned into a no-go zone. I tested the new route in October and liked it a lot. It would be off road instead of the Nimis part. It would be interesting how we runners would handle all the narrow parts of the race. I let the faster runners pass me, stood to the side. I am not sure I will do different next year, some runners informed me that they would pass me and then I either stepped aside or kept running since they could pass on one side.

The weather was perfect, the sun was out, it was not too warm or not too cold and not too gooey. Some colleagues from work passed me and said hi and we cheered each other on.

I realized that I still was doing good. I wanted to run the first lap around 3 h and 30 minutes and realized somewhere during the first lap that that would be possible 🙂 So I was hopeful, stopped to walk from time to time because of some challenging hills, need to work on running up those hills next year but the knee did not give me any issues

When I was on my way to the light house, I passed a kid, kids are so spontaneous, how slow she is running, I turned around and said Yes I do. Compared to the runners around me I ran slower but it was ok, the pace was not that bad.

New this year was the rope down the stone part after the light house, that is one of the tricky places where you have a big stone but cannot just climb down, you need to move down trying to find something to grap with your hands and now you could use a rope, went so much faster. Was still hopeful but when it was 3K left the knee started to complain, bummer! Let Wille know that I had to see what would happen with the knee, I might throw in the towel. I hoped that the issue would go away but that did not happen

When I got to the beach where it was a lot of stones, my feet were not happy. Then I heard it was only 600 m left.

Interesting feeling hearing people cheering me on, also Wille who sat on that last part before the loop. and know that  I wouldn’t continue. Showed the official who kept track of us runners, he wanted me to get out on the loop but I signed that I was throwing in the towel.

Even if it did not go my way, I had a great first lap, 3 h and 38 minutes. Now I have to fix my knee issue.

The goal now is to run pain free, the journey has already started with going back to the gym twice a week, Yoga once a week, massage every other week, the calves have been stiff and might be one thing that cause the knee issue or hips

I will be back next year, be able to run pain free and run through the finish line.

22.03K Trail Run

#67

Some weeks ago we got the PM from Kullamannen and the route had been decided. One week later I read that Länsstyrelsen (=county government) that Nimis would be a no-go zone which meant that the race cannot be at the stone part to Nimis and up Nimis. The people who are arranging this race had a 72h email conversation and had to come up with a new route.

Today it was time to head up to Kullaberg and run this new route, I had plan to run on Kullen this Saturday but now had to run the new route of course.

Got the route from Kullamannen himself.

Took the train and bus up there, put on wool sports bra, wool long sleeve, compression tights, gloves and the jacket I will wear in November. It is colder in the morning and it can be cold in the morning when you get to Kullen. Better to be able to take off clothes if I get too warm then being cold from the beginning and not be able to something about it.

This year they are renovating the harbor where the start and finish has been so the start and finish for the race I am going to run will start at a hotel so I walked up there. Started running, the start will be tougher, it goes uphill very shortly after the start and then I got to the regular part that has not been changed.

It did not take long til I felt too warm and had to take off my jacket. I also realized that I had not attached the water bladder properly and had to stop and fix that too.

It felt good to know that I am so much better prepared. I was running up on some hills and walked on the more challenging or at least tried to run up on them and then have to stop and walk but that is fine with me.

I passed the narrow path where we had run down to get to the stone part that we won’t run down on this year and continued further down on the dirt road and then continued down on another dirt road.

Got down to the water and realized that someone else was also testing running this route, we pulled our heads together to find the path to continue on. This guy had run the same race as me last year and had also thrown in the towel. He disappeared and then I was alone again, was not sure if I was on the right path turned around and now came two other runners who also were testing the new route so we were running on the route together for a moment and then I was on my own. Nice to collaborate to find the correct way. Realized that I now had gotten to the bottom wher the stone part starts but now would get up on that part where we have heading now earlier. It will be a tough part on the race and after that it was off road. I loved it. Got a bit confused but all of a sudden saw a pattern that I could follow.

Thought that I had gotten to Håkullen but was on the top before Nimis.

Then I was back on the regular route again when I had passed Nimis on the top.

I was so happy that I did not have to walk due to a knee issue, only had to walk because I had tired legs or too breathless after running up a hill.

It was a bit windy when I got to the light house and had to take it easy to not blow away.

I was not dressed for the weather but it is not easy to know how to dress, it can be very cold in the morning and then get warmer or stay cold. So I got a bit over warm. I had told Wille that I might not swim in the ocean afterwards but then informed him that meet me at the beach because I am a bit over warm and need to cool down after the run.

Wandered a bit off but it was not too long. I stopped at the beach and probably had 1K left to the finish line. This is going to be a great race this year, am glad not to have this long stone part and love the off road part a lot. It will as tough but more off road and narrow paths. It is going to be interesting how we runners will behave, we will be many who will run and some need to pass from behind because they are faster and how we will deal with that.

32.64K Trail Run

#63

Decided that I needed more total altimeter plus it has started to be more cold in the summer cottage.

This Saturday I decided I would run my 40K trail run from Tjönarp to Frostavallen.

Put myself on the train and got out on Tjörnarp train station and started my run.

Realized it was a while since I started from Tjörnarp, most of my trial runs in this area have started from Frostavallen this year.

This can happen sometimes on these trail runs

Just needed to find a way around all of these trees laying on the ground.

Needed to take off my windstopper because I got too warm.

When I got to the loop I got totally confused, what had happened. Last time everything was just normal but know they had cut a lot of trees, the area looked completely different. I realized that I had gotten more to the left, thought a path was the path to the loop but turned out that it was not, was wondering where is the loop and all of a sudden it was just in front of my face 🙂 what????? It was totally overgrown, seems to me that this summer has messed things up, now everything is green and this overgrown is usually in the spring but the loop has not been this overgrown before. It was walking in a jungle. All of a sudden I heard voices on the other side and realized for the first time that there were other runners running on Tjörnarparen, which was a first. Later they passed me, one of them would run Tjörnarparen.

I started to have issues with my right knee and had to walk.

Also hunters were out.

I said hello to a little puppy who was out for a walk.

After Osterian I run on a dirt road and then I cross the forest to get to a path, have run here many times, end up getting a bit off track but always find this path but today I got totally brain drop. All of a sudden I was in a forest and did not know where I were, lucky me I had a backup of the route in my pulse watch, after some wandering around I ended up on the dirt road again and told myself to get a grip and take it more slowly this time but ended up off track again, had to get my frustration out and then I finally find the path and continued my run. Realized that I had run 4K extra and had to cut the distance. Would be fine because it would be 4K back to Höör and then I would walk back home which would be some extra k.

This was the most frustrating route so far. Don’t know what was going on. But I think I am just fine before the race in November.

Weight report

Have not been happy with my weight this week so hope for a better week next week

35.02K Trail Run

#56

I was suppose to run 35K last weekend but I ran 36K so during the week I decided that I would run 35K and then walk the last 1K as cool down.

So since I have been a bit delayed when I have set the alarm to 6.30 am I decided that I would get up at 6.15 am instead.

Got ready and the car was on the road 7.30 am.

Put on t-shirt, shorts, shorts gococo socks, it was 12oC (53.6F) when I started but I did not freeze, started from Alunbruket.

Got to the meadow, looked if there were any cows but did not see any but when I got around the first corner these sinister cows were there 🙂

Oh no no no, they are not going to destroy my day, I won’t turn back, as solution minded as I is I stopped and had to come up with a plan. Why I didn’t want to continue around them was because there was one cow that was very close to the path where I would run. So what was the alternative. A fence and a forest. Was the fence a electrical fencing? I touched the wire and was fine, throw over my ultra back pack and got over the fence, could get out further down where there were no cows and continued.

Today I ran up part of the Northern hills of Brösarp on the first hill but needed to rest my knee. The first 10K I had the time 1 h 30 minutes, 5 minutes slower than last weekend.

I ran then all the way down to the first valley and saw that there were cows close to the path where I would pass so once again I had to walk to not scare them too much.

I started to run up the second hill and then walked, further up I saw cows close to the path, how would I handle this, decided to do a detour further down and get back up further up and it worked.

When I got down in the second valley there were no cows so I was fine.

At the rest area I had to visit the toilet at the rest area and then I continued on the yellow marker.

There were some walking due to a knee issue but finally I got to Haväng. There were a toilet that I had to visit before I continue to Vitemölla.

I ran 20 K in 3 h and 6 min, 8 minutes slower than last weekend.

Then I get to this part where it is a lot of asphalt and running/walking.

I got a bit upset when it came to one car. One car can drive on this road to Stenshuvud but when it comes to two cars in different directions, one will stop and wait for the other to pass but at one point there were an Volvo and me and the driver almost forst me into the bushes, he had enough space to move a bit closer to the right but he had to almost smearing me along the elbow.

Then I got to Stenshuvud finally. Nice to back in the woods.

Started to walk up the stairs and up to the top of Stenshuvud. Magnificent view over the water and then when I passed all the stones it was time to start running down 800m and then continue towards the other side.

Once again I had to visit the toilet. This was a different one, it was plastic in front of the toilet and it felt like it was going to crack 🙂

I was tired in my legs and feet. Helped a couple who thought that they were at the wrong place, thought that they wanted to visit Stenshuvud so I told them to just continue.

Back on asphalt again so tried to run til I got to a hill part and then continue runing when I had walked up the hill. Ran into an upwind but managed to handle it.

Stopped the clock at 35K and then walked 1K as cool down.

When I got to Vik I was met by a glad dog.

Then it was the mandatory swim in the ocean but this time there was a dog that was in the water also 🙂

35.99K Trail Run

#53

Remember that last year I didn’t get up on those longer distances. Had planned to run some 40K’s but that did not happen. Longest distance I ran was a 33K on Österlen.

This year my goal is to run through the finish line and with my pneumonia I had to start slowly but after vacation it was time to raise the bar. So I raised the bar quite a bit from 28K to 39.37K and then I decided that between the next 40K I would run around 35K so it won’t be too tough.

So I was thinking where did I have to stop to get up to 35K, decided that I would run from Alunbruket to Vik and also this time try to start at 8 am.

Once again it could rain but I would run as long as it would be good weather and if it would start raining it would depend how much and how cold if I would throw in the towel or not. Cannot just stop anywhere, need to be somewhere where I can be picked up by a car.

So off I went in t-shirt, shorts, packed a long sleeve in a dry bag which I put in my ultra back pack.

It is such a huge difference now when the temperature has dropped. Was around 15oC (59F) when I started, cool and nice and I did not freeze, some years ago I wouldn’t try to run in t-shirt and shorts when it is 15oC but I have given it a try now a few weeks and it has not been an issue, I get warm when I start running.

Some weeks ago I ran into a cow situation on a meadow where I have run smoothly for some years but this year one morning I realize that there are cows or heifers. What I did wrong was to walk towards them, but they looked sinister from the start. So every time now I look if I see any when I enter the meadow and there were none 🙂 Good!

Continued on the meadow, saw fresh cow dung and was praying that I wouldn’t see them around the corner and thank God they weren’t, I saw them on the other side of the creek and hoped that they wouldn’t come over to me but why. I could not see any natural path that they could walk on.

Got into the woods.

One thing I do not like in the woods are the spider webs that gets into my face and legs, it is more disturbing when they get into my face.

During the summer with the tropical heat I have not have any issues with a certain plant but now when the temperature has dropped, it is greener and now they have started to grow these nettle and without thinking I was running on a dirt road and got a bit to close to the left and felt the sting. The only thing to do is to ignore it and then it won’t sting anymore

The first part between Alunbruket and Haväng went quite well. Walked after some hills. Now I have started to run up more on the first hill at Brösarps Nothern hills (in the beginning), also on the second hill. When I was on my way there I saw a bigger group of trekkers on these hills and hoped that I would caught up with the group at a place where I could pass them easily. But I caught up with them down in the valley where I walk anyway but where I usually start running again they were in front of me so I took the opportunity to rest my leg and walked behind them til I got to the rest area where one of them said it looks good and I responded You too.

Then I continued on the yellow marker. I realized that I ran more today then I have done before even if I had to walk where it was cows and animals. Managed to run the whole dirt road just before Haväng.

The beach part between Haväng and Vitemölla was running and walking, it is tough running on sand.

After that I have approximately 6K asphalt which is not so good to run on with trail shoe so once again running and walking.

Finally I made it to Stenshuvud where I run a lot in the woods and it is going up to the top of Stenshuvud. Am running in the beginning but when I get tot the stairs I walk up on those and then all the way to the top. Time to head down and when it is not so rocky anymore I ran down. Now I got tired in my legs and feet so I did some walking, met a labrador puppy who was happy when I patted him.

Then it was only 5K left on asphalt. Ran and walked up the hills. The first 10K I ran in 1h 25 min, 20K in 2h 58 min so I hoped that I would be able to finish in less than 5 h and 30 min which I have said to Wille. I had run 35K in 5 h and 5 min which felt great but it was 36K to Vik but finished in 5 h 13 min which felt great.

Wille was a bit delayed but it was not cold so I tested my thermal blanket and then when Wille arrived I had my mandatory bath and then lunch.

28.3K Trail Run

#40

It was time to increase the distance today to approximately 30K which meant that I would add the foot path where there is a lot of heather.

With this heat that have hit Sweden I was not sure if I would experience the very purple color of there but I would run there at least.

When I opened the door in the morning it was cooler 🙂

On our ride to Christinehof I realized I had forgotten my pulse watch so we had to return back and I also could bring my hair brush to my back pack with  my chaning clothes afterwards.

It was very enjoyabe starting this run because it was cooler, it was a breeze.

It has been so WARM lately.

When I got to the meadow where I had experienced these hostile cows they were there but to the right and stayed there, I realized I ran so much faster over this meadow, I wonder why.

Did not experience any knee issue during the first part.

Passed some other runners and got a comment, oh another long distance runner 🙂

A lot of trekkers and on my way to Verkeån I heard someone whistling, I was so glad because otherwise I would not have heard this biker so I moved to the right.

On the meadow I did not see the very purple, more brown plants due to the heat.

At the end of this path I turn to the left and get on a narrow path but realized that they had put on a fence and let the path to the right but I still saw the blue marking on the other side of the fence ????? How would I get over, I could not get over the fence in the middle because it is a electrical fence but at the end it was a old stair, I was wondering if the steps would fall but they did 🙂

On the next meadow I had a close experience with some horses, one walked towards me and another horse, one of them started to press me 🙂

And another horse came up from a hill, they started to follow me but then they stopped.

Close to Haväng the heat came and I had a minor issue with my right knee.

I wet my hair and drank water and got finally to Haväng and had only approximately 5K left to the final destination.

Between Haväng and Vitemölla I try to get down to the water and wet my hair but today it was waves so it was tough wetting my hair, I gave up.

So nice to get to the final destination but my ride was not there with the cold water but saw that he was close, finally he showed up and I got my water and drank almost 1 liter before it was time for the mandatory and necessary swim in the water. Went in the water with my running gear.

I was surfing, the waves moved me forward.

19.66K Trail Run

#27

Decided that I would start from Christinehof this morning and run down to Haväng, it would be 1.5K longer than two weeks ago.

Decide to wear shorts, linnen, Altralone Peak 3.5.

Have 750 ml water in the water bladder and 250 ml sportsdrink with coffeine (Tailwind Tropical Buzz) and some candy because I have experienced a tired right calf and thought that this extra energy would help.

Started the run, the goal this year is to run up all the way on some hills and there is one steep in the beginning that I have been thinking about this week but was not sure but then I decided that I would give it a try. What a feeling when I did it, I was breathless afterwards but it was definately worth it. Sometimes you just have to decide that you are going to do it and then you just do, not more complicated than that 🙂

Had to stop two times to fix my shoe laces and then visit the rest room at 13K.

Now I feel like I am a runner, a long distance runner.

Had a great run, it was a mix of heat, cloudy, breeze, shadow. I had to wet my hair a couple of times to not get overheated.

I did not look at my watch a lot, just let my legs decide the pace.

There were some trekkers that I passed and said hi to.

I was also forced to stop and walk when it was 3-4K left, cows in my way and I do not trust cows, this time they were more afraid of me than I was of them. There were cow calves that ran away, made a video but there were some technical issues.

I have said to Wille it would take 2 h 45 min to 3 h so it felt good to finish with 2 h 41 min 🙂

It has not happen very often that I have finished earlier than I have thought, I hope I will keep up the good work.

I had forgotten to bring my brush and sent a message to Wille to bring my brush, it felt that I was going to wet my hair when I took the mandatory swim in the ocean afterwards

It was cold and refreshing

16.12K Long Run

#20

Today is Sweden’s National Day so I decided that I would in the morning get to Frostavallen and run a 16K trail run. Green/Blue/Green marker.

Since I got abrasions on my back when I decided to run in my sports bra, I put on my linnen to be safe.

Was a bit chilly but in the end it was perfect running weather, not too warm and not too cold.

The goal was to run up all the way on more hills and walk less and get a better time.

Had water in my water bladder, if I had to wet my hair and face I would run around a lake so it would be many chances to get to the water 🙂

Met many trekkers today.

I ran up on all hills on the first green marker, got to the blue where I visited the great rest rooms and then continued on the blue marker.

This blue marker is part of Tjörnarparen, the ultra race I run in December and the first year we ran around Dagtorpssjön (Lake of Dagstorp) on the right, then this blue marker was actually black. But then they changed the marker to blue and when you get to this part when you run around the lake they put the blue marker to the left instead but I decided to run around the lake.

It was wonderful because I did not have to run some alternative way due to the water which got on the land, it was dry today and I just could run.

Got on the first boring dirt road but ran all the way, felt that one of my trail shoes felt loose so when I got to the foot bridge I stopped and checked and the shoe lace was loose 🙂

Continued on the blue marker in the woods and ran up all the hillls.

One major thing today was that I was also running on the rocky parts, I have been afraid in the past to injure myself, spraining my feet but today I just ran and it felt great.

Had a meeting with one of the funny cows which showed up last year I think, I always walk past them because I do not trust them.

Got out on the second boring dirt road and ran up almost all the way on the first steeper hill but had to walk afterwards because I had to catch my breath.

On the second steeper hill I started running up but had to stop and walk.

Then I was at Djuralidsbacken (= hill of Djuralid), had a thought that I would try to run up that hill but due to my knee I walked up the hill but this time I ran up the steep short hill after this hill and it felt great.

Decided then that I would run as much as I could the last 5K and it worked.

Today I felt strong and light, a wonderful feeling.

12.7K Trail Run

#16

Time again to get up to Frostavallen and continue with my trail running.

Suppose to be warm so I wore running skirt, linnen, ultra backpack, altralone peak 3.5, compression socks.

The weather was perfect, not as warm as the last time I was here but not too cold and also a breeze

Nice to be back and also that it is so dry, last year it was wet wet wet, gooey, gooey, gooey

The goal was of course to run up all the way on some more hills and also start running on all hills except two (Djuralids hill and the hill after)

Groups of treekers were also on the markers where I ran, I combines green, white, green today. In the beginning it was a larger group and they were in my way 🙂 A funny comment was here is someone who is in a hurry. Yes I am I responded and ran up the hill all the way, don’t think I did it last time 🙂

I would increase the distance to 12.5K, that’s why I added the white part which is a bit hillier than the first green part. Got up all the way on the first one on the white part which felt great but then there are two that are close to each other where I had to stop and walk on part of them.

It is so nice to run in the woods, I hear the birds singing and it smells lovely. And now it is so green.

I realized that when I would get back to the parking lot at Frostavallen I would not have been running 12.5K and have to come up with a new plan what to do. Decided to run around the lake of Wax (Vaxsjön) but still did not get 12.5 so I ran back on the green marker on the other side of the lake (where I normally come back on) and then found a new orange path into the woods and explored it.

Did not run into any knee issue til 8K and then I had to do a lot of walking.

Every time I run it just feels better and better now. I hope that it is true. I get lighter and get used to running again.

Double Death

#18 – 50 Runs in 100 Days – Autumn Edition

Friday Nov 3rd I and Wille drove to Mölle. I was hoping we would get up there in the afternoon but came up early evening.

Checked in to the hotel and found the room eventually, it was not marked well but the room was nice. I could see the harbour outside the front window.

We got to Hotell Kullaberg where we ate dinner and Ola Ö showed up and would also run Kullamannen on Saturday, he would run Dödens Zon. Naturally we had some running talk.

After dinner we went back to the hotel room and I got brought out all my running gear I would wear Saturday, mixed the sports drink and put it in the refrigerator.

Friday at 11.00 the 100 miles race started at at round 21.00 (9 pm) the first runner got down to the harbour so I cheered him on.

Was quite tired so went to bed early.

Next morning I got up at 7 am. I thought that the winner of the 100 miles was on his way down to the finish line so I got out at 7.30, instead I saw another poor sould, a runner who had been running 100K, totally exhausted, didn’t feel well, was on his way to fall apart so I and another girl led him to the harbour where two other people took care of him.

Wille parked the car and I got down to the finish line where Ola already was, we waited for the winner to run through the finish lined, did the 100 miles in 21 hours, what a fighter, his first 100 miles.

Then Wille and I had breakfast at 8.00.

After that it was time to head back to the hotel room and get ready for the race, packed the ultra back pack and put on the running clothes, decided to just have the merino wool long sleeve and windstopper and not the fleece.

IMG_5591_171104

The seeded runners started the Double Death race at 11.30 and I planned to start the race 11.35, we started every 5 min til 11.45. I could start the race 11.35.

They had changed the beginning of the route slightly, we ran down to the beginning of the beach where we turned right, I think we did that also year 2015.

Got out to the woods and after a while I had to take off the windstopper.

Just before the race I had a chance to talk to Roger L who had thrown in the towel on the 100 miles due to a knee issue, he informed me that it was very gooey and wet.

The first part of the the first lap I was doing just fine, walked up some steeper hills but also ran up some that I had walked up during training, see what a race can do to you.

This year we did not run down to the left on a dirt road to get to the stone part, instead we ran a bit longer til we got to a parking lot where we turned to the left and then we got down to the stone part, was keeping myself as far left as I could so I could avoid the most wet part of the stone part. It was not so bad, there were wet stones but I thought it would be much more wet than it was.

The boat was still there, I wonder how that boat driver had been driving when I was there in October, quite a crash.

Nimis was awful, very gooey, I was breathless and had tired legs when I got to the top. Came another steep short gooey hill where I walked but then I could run again til I got to Håkullen, that was the steepest of all the races I have down.

When I got to the top I could also start running again but felt my right calf getting tired, I started drinking more sports drink to get away the tiredness but then I felt pain in the back of my right knee, hoped that it would go away but it didn’t.

When I got to the light house and stopped to have some sports drink I felt how frayed I was, first time I felt that way during all training and races at Kullaberg, it is only 4k left to the harbour but oh boy they did not feel light at all. More walking, the knee pain stayed there and I decided to throw in the towel when I got down to Mölle again, I had forwarned Wille that I might do that if the knee pain did not disappear.

I knew that the knee would last another lap and why head out there, get more pain and have a really tough time getting back to Mölle.

I got a medal since I had run one lap which was the Dödens Zon.

I have never been running such a gooey and wet race before, it was just too tough for my body this year, I would have needed some longer runs but got my Fall cold just before I was going to run on Kullen the second time and run a 40K run, then when I ran my first 40K prior to this race it did not go well, decided to cut the distance, ended up with a 30K race instead.

Not been my year this year but I am getting back as a ultra runner, have been doing a lot of hilly running and hilly intervals.

Already has signed up for the Double Death next year.

Now it is time to focus on the last ultra race this year and next year I am going to get back to 100% ultra runner and finish those 2 laps on Kullaberg.
