#52 – 50 runs in 100 days

1 day, 0 days to go

Today it is the last day of this challenge and my second bonus was a combo.

Was greeted by Suz when I got to Actic to swim. She was standing in her very nice belly dance outfit.

Friday afternoon I felt ache in my left shoulder, could do Newaza yesterday did not have any issues with my shoulder til the end.

This morning I felt ache in my shoulder and decided to not do any crawling after swimming 400 m breaststroke

Today I brought my stopwatch and got a more accurate time: 11.28.48 min 🙂

Biked to Gerda and continued with biking and running

During biking the first k took 3 min but I am getting faster and faster meanwhile

biking_140208

Every other k I increased the incline to 10 and stood up and biked a bit faster. At 10k I had the time 25.41 min. Total time today 50.46 min. 🙂

Over to running where I ran most of the run in a comfortable pace of 6 min/k. When it was 1 k left I increased the speed to 5.27 min/k and when it was 500 m left I increased the speed to 5 min/k. Total time today was 29.24 min

The calves today was tired after physical training Thursday.

I have enjoyed this challenge and glad that I was able to pass 50 runs. In November it felt very far away to reach the goal but I had decided to make it. Stayed away from injuries and had only one day flu.

3 day, 2 days to go

Tonite I did my 50TH run during Coach K Runners physical training but without Suz. Karin was the stand-in and did a great work.

IMG_1251

Started jogging as warm-up.

After that we worked two and two where we did 10 pull-ups and between each pull-up we did ”high five” and then a rush, came back did 9 pull-ups down to 1.

Then we did 4 exercises: first 2 lunges and a squats, burpee, pull-ups and then high knee. Did this for 1 minute each and then rested 20 sec and then did the same exercises again 50 s each, rest 20 s, down to 10 s.

After that it was lunges, frog jumps, jumping on one foot and then the other, side steps and frog jumps again.

Then we had interval training for 15 s, triceps, interval 15 s, squats, 15 s interval

And the finally I was doing tabata intervals which I have heard other people doing at this challenge but was afraid to ask what it was.

When you do Tabata intervals you do an exercise for 20s, rest 20s, do another exercise rest for 20 s, third exercise, rest 20s, fourth exercise, rest for 1 minute and then did 2 more of these.

Right now my thighs are sore and it is going to be interesting how it feels tomorrow.

Of course I got dyspnea, I am used to it now. I have studied this. Thought that I got it because it was either too warm and then colder but it seems that when I do interval type of exercises running below a certain speed this happens. I just have to ”gilla läget” like state???

Between November 1st and today I have run 267.5k

I DID IT! 🙂

#49 – 50 runs in 100 days

8 day, 7 days to go

It was not too cold, decided to use my spikes because it looked like it had rained during the nite before.

IMG_1244_1000px

There was one street that was snow covered where I had to watch where I was putting my running shoes so I did not run on pure ice.

Weather: Grey, not too cold

Temperature: 3.6oC (38.5F)

Average speed today: 6.11 min/k and time: 1.00.28 h

Now I see the finishing line that I probably will run through next week 🙂

#47 – 50 runs in 100 days

10 day, 9 days to go

Tonite Coach K Runners had a ”glädjepass” (fun run)

Glädjepass is a run where you are focusing on the enjoyment in running and look less at the watch. The run will be 5k and the tempo will be around 6 min/k

Reflective vest, headlight on.

The amount of people got reduced during the day due to injuries and I guess the cold but it was a mix of people that gathered together. I gave a tip to one girl to buy spikes and she thanked me 🙂

It is interesting how the cold can affect you. When we have started to run I felt it must be faster than 6 min/k but I think it was because it was so cold.

Weather: Dark, cold, snow

Temperature: -2oC (28.4F)

For every run it feels more and more unreal that I am getting closer to 50 runs, in the beginning it felt very far away but now the finishing line is very close 🙂

Average speed today: 6.12 min/k and time: 31.37.7 min

#46 – 50 runs in 100 days

11 day, 10 days to go

Tonite I ran 3k as warmup instead of rowing for 5 minutes, for my back at the gym.

Got up on the treadmill and ran in a comfortable pace, minding my own business, enjoying the run. After a while a guy is stepping up on the treadmill next to me and starts to run fast. How much noise can you make on a treadmill. Then I felt heat spreading over to my treadmill??????, is that possible? 🙂

Average speed today: 6 min/k and time: 18.10 min

#45 – 50 runs in 100 days

14 day, 13 days to go

The whole week part of me has refused to run outside but I decided that part of me would not win over the stronger part of me.

So today it was time to run outside even if part of me had tried to win.

A bit reluctantly I put on my running shoes and ran a 5k run. The cold caressed my cheeks and I also had some upwind. Snow was also in the air.

It is interesting because I always tell my friends who are not in a mood for exercising that
Do it you will not regret it afterwards”
and it is so true

IMG_1235_1000px

I guess I have to be glad for the little snow that we have in the south

I have to admit that I was glad that I ran today, it was quite refreshing

IMG_1238_1000px

Weather: Grey, snow in the air, cold

Temperature: -2oC (28.4F)

Average speed today: 6.01 min/k and time: 29.11.6 min 🙂

#44 – 50 runs in 100 days

16 day, 15 days to go

Tonite’s run was 10 laps and 4 rush as warmup before Newaza at the judo mat.

And then we had some judo physical traning before the actual Newaza started.

Tonite I had the pleasure to fight with Christian, Albin and Sandor.

I did not do a lot of Newaza last Fall but now I just rested once prior to the technique which was technique that really worked for me.

Looking forward to next week’s newaza

#43 – 50 runs in 100 days

17 day, 16 days to go

Today it was a combo. I realized that the recovery takes a bit longer than I thought. Doing one combo each week was not working for me, noticed that the third week in a row and have had one week’s rest from combo.

  • Swimming 400 m

When I got to the pool the first three lanes was occupied by kids who had swimming school. The goal today was to crawl 2×25 m. Finally I got a lane for myself. After 100 m I crawled 25 m, oh gosh it really takes the life out of me, Very breathless. And then I did that twice.

The time today was around 11 min, the crawling might have slowed me down.

Swimming also feels in my neck afterwards. The swim goggles must fit more closely, got fog inside today. I had some pain in my right knee afterwards. I might have to stretch before I start swim.

IMG_1225

Then it was time to bike to the gym and finish the last two disciplines: biking and running

Started with 20k biking, started with an incline of 5 and then increased it to 8. Three times I increased the incline to 10 and stood up for 1k

IMG_1226

After 2k it did not look very promising

IMG_1227_1000px

But after 7k I must have speeded it up a bit

At 10k

IMG_1229_1000px

After 17k and the last incline of 10 and the familiar dyspnea

IMG_1230

The total time today was 50.39 which is the fastest time so far 🙂

IMG_1231_1000px

Then I went to the treadmill where it was time for 5k running in a comfortable pace. Started with 6min/k for 4.5k and then decided to speed it up the last 500m to 5 min/k. Total time today was 29.42 min
