12.44K Flat Run

#10 – 50 runs in 100 days – Just run edition

I had decided that I would go out for a run after work.

It was warm during my bike ride and it was time for short tights and linnen and definately a water belt but then I decided I would test my running skirt.

Interesting with me is that two years ago I was not interested at all in a running dress or running skirt. Some CKR girls had those during races or running workouts, it was nothing for me.

Then last year at Hallandsultran one girl had a very cool running skirt and then I was hooked so I bought one this year.

I had to put on my flipbelt too to have my mobile and keys in.

It was a beautiful evening for a run but also warm so  I had to wet my hair during the run and drink water. Passed some other runners and said hi.

I have to say that running with a running skirt was very liberating. Definately something that I will wear again during warm summer runs.

Me, running and heat are not best friends so I am satisifed with the time and pace.

Unfortunately I did not get any heart rate or VO2 Max registered.

12.41K Flat Run

#7 – 50 runs in 100 days – Just run edition

I was hoping that the weather would stay warm all the way down to the town where I live and it felt that way.

Temperature: 16.5oC (61.7F)

3/4 Capri, short socks and t-shirt 🙂 and the Life saver: flip belt

My legs did not feel tired after yesterday’s intervals and the pace was around 6 min/k.

I saw one woman on inlines and couldn’t believe that she didn’t wear any helmet, wrist guards, kneepad or elbow protection.

Allergy time even if I like this time of the year best, it gets greener and greener.

At the end I saw a horse coming in the other direction and it started to move more towards the middle and started to trot. I said hold to the left. I am not interested to get kicked by a horse, those hooves can do severe damages. Nothing happened.

First time in t-shirt this year and nice to get out on a run in this very nice spring weather, I hope that the heat will stay and that it will get warmer and warmer so it also can be a great summer too.

5.23K Flat Run

#4 – 50 runs in 100 days – Just run edition

Fantastic evening.

I was suppose to run yesterday but when I got back to the train station it was raining so I decided I would skip the run and test my gym gear at home: elastic band and gymstick, and then run today.

It was raining where I am working, it was cold when I got back home, part of me wanted to skip the run but my stronger me decided to not listen to the other voice.

Temperature: 9oC (48.2F)

IMG_3621_160427

I decided I woudl run my 5K run backwards = start with the end first and end the start last and I could remember the route. Sometimes when I have tested this on other routes I can get confused because everything looks different.

IMG_3654_160427

Great to see that the pace was fast from the beginning and it was very nice to see 5.25 min/k on my display on my pulse watch.

IMG_3655_160427

Even if it looked like it was going to rain, the rain stayed away.

IMG_3657_160427

So glad to see a finishing time under 30 min. It is definately going in the right direction.

5.11K Flat Run

#1 – 50 runs in 100 days – Just run edition

I was suppose to run my first run in this challenge yesterday but my weaker me won so I decided I would run when I got back from work tonite.

Temperature: 15oC (59F)

I decided I would be tough and wear my Spring/Fall compression tights, long sleeve, no gloves and hat 🙂

My flipbelt came in handy tonite where I could keep my key and mobile phone.

First run this year that I felt that spring really was hear in the city. So much greener, birds singing. Hope it will go in the right direction from now on. I want a bit warmer temperature.

Nice pace from the beginning. Just slowed now for a short moment when I was running uphills.

Nice way of starting the weekend.

Tomorrow it will be a trail run at my favorite spot and a longer run, need to see in what shape I am in for my first ultra race in June. It is going to be interesting to see how wet or dry it is.

5.14K – Flat Run

#30 – 50 runs in 100 days – No excuses edition

Turned out that this run actually is the last run for me in the challenge that ends at midnight. The next challenge said it was going to start April 19th 0.05 but is actually April 20th 0.05.

When I left work the sun came out and it felt good to know that I would run a 5K run when I got back home.

Temperature: 12.5oC (54.5F)

IMG_3565_160419

It was nice getting out even if it was fresh winds.

IMG_3567_160419

The pace was ok, felt that I was influenced by that I was tired. Have not managed to get to bed in time this week but work on it 🙂

IMG_3574_160419

Nice to see the sun out, beginning of this week has been grey.

5.08K Flat Run

#26 – 50 runs in 100 days – No excuses edition

It was such a joy running tonite but it turned out the GPS did not work properly so I did not get all the data registered.

Nice pace though, that worked, nice to see those numbers under 6 min/k mainly on the run.

Lately I have become very irritable at someone and how I rehabilitate myself is to visualize that person in front of me during the run and slowly get that irritation out of my system.

It was grey and rain in the air and since I am used to colder weather where I work, even if it was 13 oC (55F) I put on long sleeve and fleece 🙂 of course the fleece got off during the run, the windstopper compression tights was a bit warm, I guess I have to accept that spring finally is here 🙂 I wore hat and gloves and it did not take long til they got off as well.

Average pace was 5.34 min/k, distance approximately

12.65K Flat Run

#23 – 50 runs in 100 days – No excuses edition

I have decided that even if this commuting means longer days that my exercising is not going to suffer. So after work I went out for a run. Mandatory reflective vest and headlight.

Even if it was colder it was not raw cold.

Saturday I had issues with my heart rate, went above 140 during my warm up but tonite it felt like normal. I have managed to get to bed earlier this week.

An interesting thing happened, someone was out with her pig 🙂 I have heard that pigs can be pets but do not know anyone who has a pig as a pet.

Nice to get out for a run even if it was later.  Twice I had to pass horses. I am not afraid of horses but I do not want to get kicked by one but nothing happened.

5.09K Flat Run

#14 – 50 runs in 100 days – No excuses edition

This morning it rained and I hoped that it wouldn’t rain the whole day.

Then it was time for me to head out for a short run.

Temperature: 7.9oC (46.2F)

A bit grey but no rain when I started and a good pace 🙂

Then  it started to drizzling, just what I needed 🙂 but eventually it stopped.

Around 2K I was met by upwind, it seem to be a ”take the bull by the horns” day. That takes out the strength in u. The pace decreased and then when the upwind was gone it slowly got up again.

Just before I finish this route I have a longer upward slope but I didn’t loose any pace and then I could finish strong!

Great to see those numbers under 6 again!

5.36K Flat Run

#4 – 50 runs in 100 days – No excuses edition

IMG_3308_160116

I usually run a distance run during the weekend but today the Choir, I am singing in, will have our first choir rehearsal, our rehearsal day is Monday. So the distance run was earlier this week and today I ran a short run.

It is magical to run through a winter landscape.

Temperature: -3oC (27F) but not raw cold

I decided that I would wear my regular running shoes and take it easy and it felt that I had a comfortable pace, not breathless.

Had to deal with dog walkers who wouldn’t move, as a runner I am running on the wrong side of the road when I am running on a car road for safety reason but on a dirt road where no cars are it should be the normal law that applies but these two dog owners was going to stay on the right side so it was just to ”step aside” 🙂

Some other runners were also out running and we said hello to each other, I also had the pleasure of seeing one deer.

There was one icy part, no issues, a good run in other words.

Still nice to see the average pace number under 6 even if part of me still cannot believe that I am a 5 min pace runner now. I hope that I will keep up the good work.

12.43K Flat Run

#1 – 50 runs in 100 days – No excuses edition

Today a new challenge, doing 50 runs in 100 days, since I just got up to 35 I decided I would continue with this one. Do not have any race til June so it is more likely I will make it.

So I went out for a 12.5K run.

Temperature: 4oC (39F)

Yesterday evening it snowed and then it rained so it would be interesting to see how the ground would be. Decided to wear my regular running shoes.

The bike path was just wet from the rain but then all of a sudden there was a ice part so I had to run on the grass. Had good pace from the beginning.

Thought it would be a great idea to put on my reflective vest and bring my headlight. Turned out to be a good decision.

I came out on the dark dirt road but did not need the headlight. At the end before I have to cross a car road it goes up hill and there it was icier.

When I was back on a dirt road again it was a longer ice part, lucky me I could run at the side and on the grass.

Crossed a car road again and got on  another dirt road, had to put on the headlight, there was an ice part and then after that I got fooled by the dirt that looked like ice with the headlight on.

So part of this run I had to run a bit slower to avoid slipping on the ice.

When it is around 1.5K left I was back on the dirt road where I got fooled by the dirt and now it was really dark, harder to see the road even if I have the headlight on.

But then I was back in my neighbor hood and increased the pace at the end.

Nice again to see average pace under 6 min/k
