4.96K Short Run

#4

The week got a bit changed because I felt Monday that I might catch a cold again.

So I rescheduled to run on Friday instead of the gym.

Decided I would run around the bog after work.

Temperature: 14oC (57.2F)

It felt warm when I got back home after work but I did not dare not wearing my windstopper.

Had decided that I would keep that slower pace but felt in the beginning that my legs felt fresh and wanted to run a bit faster so I had to slow down, for some reason I could keep a pace of 7.30 min/k around the major part of the run.

Was not sure how long the distance would be and did not want to check my blog to found out.

It was nice being back on the bog which is close to where I live.

Part of the run was windy and upwind.

When I left the bog I just let my legs decide what pace they wanted to have. I calculated it would be approximately 1500 m left.

I was quite breathless when I was done but it felt good having a faster pace at the end and be able to keep it.

The reaction after the run is that I get a cough that goes away but I do not run into that during the run.

And it is a weird part of the year since I am Spring allergice, allergic to some trees, especially  Birch

Next week I will increase the distance and see where it takes me. To sums it up I should be able to run at least 5K and then it will be interesting it I will be able to run more than 5K without stopping.

5K Short Run

#3

The original plan was to run this run yesterday but Monday morning I woke up with a ”cold” feeling in my throat, had a tiny little sore throat and was not sure how it would go, crossed my fingers that I wouldn’t run into another cold now when I just got back from the last one.

Monday after choir rehearsal I took a sip of whisky, went to bed on time and yesterday I fel fine. Decided to not run yesterday.

This morning when I biked to work it was raining 🙂 I do not like to run in the rain when it is colder. During the morning it was grey and rained even more. I hoped it would get better in the afternoon.

In the afternoon I saw that the sun got out and I started to see some clouds in the blue sky 🙂

The socks last week was too warm so I decided to wear thinner socks.

The goal today was to be able to run the whole run without any walk so decided to have the same slow pace as Saturday.

At the start I felt that my legs were faster but I had decided to go for this slower pace, it is a challenge when your legs are faster and you have to force yourself to calm down.

Satuday it was much windier but it was a bit windy today.

After the first uphill I had to remove the windstopper and catch my breath, I was still running and decided not to check the pulse watch at the distance, I would run til I couldn’t run anymore

The big question was the last uphill which is close to home, a bit longer, a bit steeper but I decided that if I still was running that I would continue running up that part and see how far I would get.

When I was on my way to the cemetery I saw this little creature and in the bushes the male mallard was there. When I ran through the cemetary I saw two more mallard couples. I was wondering if they are sticking together as couples? And I just read that they form couples already in the Fall.

I ran up all the way on the last uphill part and then I let myself loose the last part home, just let the legs decide in what pace they wanted to run.

So more improvement today, finally I ran the whole 5K, felt really good.

Pulse Based Interval Training

#16 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

Tonite it was time for pulse based interval training again.

Realized during warmup that it was really windy so it would be very interesting.

First it was 2K warmup and after that the first interval for 2K and not going over 160. Windy from the very beginning made it tough the first 1/4 of the interval, was around 150 but then around the corner it was not that windy anymore and I could increase the pace and get up to 157-159.

Then time for 2 min rest when I walked and drank some water.

Time for the second interval for 2K, there is a hilly part but I managed to not get over 160.

2 min rest when I walked and drank some  water.

On the third interval something interesting happened, just in the beginning I realized  so that the pulse was already up to 183 ??? so I had to slow down  a lot, that has never happened but after that I got up to 157-159.

When I had my rest the pulse watch never beeped, got down to too low pulse, that’s the reason why I realized that something was not right so I decided to start the interval and would stop just before I would cross a car road, close to my home.

Then a short cool down that was actually less than 1K.

Distance: 10.79K, time: 1.12.19.8 h, average heart rate: 147, average pace: 6.42 min/k, max pace: 5.13 min/k, cadence: 170, VO2 Max: 35 ml/kg/min

9.77K Short Run

#11 – 50 Runs in 100 days – Spring edition

The weather has been weird today.

This morning it was sunny and then in the afternoon it was raining and I really hoped it wouldn’t rain when I was going to run after work.

I was so lucky it was not raining but it was really windy.

Decided to test the NRC app (Nike Running Club) and also put on some extra clothing because I do not want to be cold, I prefer realizing I have too much and then remove something.

Tonite it was not feeling so heavy, it seems that I am losing weight, just felt heavy breathing in the beginning but that was because of too much clothes

Temperature: 7.5oC (45.5F)

So I decided to take off the fleece, yes I am not kidding, I chose to put on the fleece under the windstopper and it felt so much better when I only had the long sleeve and windstopper.

What felt great today was that I could speed up at the end, such a relief 🙂

Distance: 9.77K, time: 1.03.14 h, average pace: 6.28 min/k, max pace: 5.02 min/k

3.35K Lunch Run

#3 – 50 runs in 100 days – Winter edition

Today it was time for lunch running at work, Anders has forgotten his running gear so I ran on my own.

Last week I was really sore all over my body but now after some days of resting I felt much better today. Was not as tired in my legs.

Most of the snow is gone but there were snow parts, some that I could avoid but some were avoidable.

Had a good pace today even if there was some upwind, chilly but I was not freezing.

results_161114

Distance: 3.35K, time: 18.30.7 min, average heart rate: 148, average pace: 5.31 min/k, max pace: 2.04 min/k, cadence: 180, VO2 Max: 27 ml/kg/min

Today good cadence, since I bought new running shoes the cadence decreased a bit but maybe it takes some time to get used to the new shoes and the cadence get affected.

17K Trail Run

#37 – 50 runs in 100 days – Keep Running edition

Nov 5th I will run the race Dödens Zon (The Death Zone) on Kullaberg, approximately 22K trail run that is very different from the other trail races I am participating in. So today it was time for the last trail run before the race and what would be better than running the route.

3 other Coach K Runners that I had not run with me before wanted to join me plus Irma the dog 🙂

3 of us and the dog drove in one car and then the fourth runner would drive alone.

When we got to Mölle harbour it was very windy and cold. We waited for the fourth person but he never showed up so we were 3 runners and a dog who started running. After some k’s I had to take off my windstopper and gloves, the first k’s just goes up and up.

I could follow the route but the distance did not work this time either, I just need to get to the bottom with this.

After about 9K the route turns into a tricky narrow path into the woods and down to the coast. I had asked one of the runners to import the route just in case I would loose the route which happenend on my last trail run so there we were not in an agreement how to run, so we got off track but something felt not right so I stopped and turned back, shouted on the rest but they didn’t hear me so we got separated but since Fredrik had the route I thought that they would probably run back so I found the narrow path and ran on my own down to the coast

img_4137_161015

Text messaged Fredrik and asked if they had done a detour and got back yes but that they were close. Put my windstopper back on and gloves so I didn’t get cold while I was waiting for them.

img_4139_161015

img_4140_161015

After a while I got the message that they were 200m in front of me of the route and I was wondering which way did they go 🙂

This part is just stone stone stone so no running, loose stones, I was wondering how Irma would make it but she was doing just fine.

After a while you get to Nimis and then a steep uphill. Irma was struggling a bit.

img_4141_161015

Back to running again and then down a steep path to the coast again and then up Håkullen which is tougher than Nimis. You are basically crawling up and Irma the poor the dog got scared, she didn’t have anything to hold on to and refused to go up any furhter, Amanda decided to head back and up the other part and Fredrik and I continued on our own.

We cut the route a bit to get back to time Amanda so we probably ran around 17K

img_4142_161015

Then we got back to Mölle and I had wanted to eat this famous shrimp toast

3.15K Flat Run

#34 – 50 runs in 100 days – Keep Running edition

Yesterday I packed my running bag to bring to work.

This morning when I walked down to the train station it was raining and it was Cold. It did not look good.

Part of me wanted Anders to have forgotten his running clothes but no such luck 🙂  We decided at breakfast that we would meet at 11.30 am and when I was looking out the window close to walking down to the basement and change I saw that Anders was in a meeting and still hope that he would say that we had un unexptected meeting but no such luck either 🙂

So I changed and got out and it was chilly, cold, windy and it was also raining and I hate to run when it rains.

I got up a good pace and once again Anders commented that I had smaller running steps than him and still ran fast and I told him, good cadence.

After a while Anders had to stop and walk and told me to continue and I was thinking that he must know that this time I won’t stop and circle around to wait for him, we both are familiar with the route now.

Once again I think that I had a good pace because I wanted to come back fast into the building and get warm. Anders ran in short and long sleeeve and t-shirt and I had long compression tights, long sleeve, windstopper, gloves and buff, the gloves got removed when my hands got warm.

Distance: 3.15K, time: 18.40.8 min, average heart rate: 147, average pace: 5.55 min/k, max pace: 5.23 min/k, cadence: 182, VO2 Max: 30 ml/kg/min

4.01K Flat Run

#33 – 50 runs in 100 days – Keep Running edition

Been a tough week at work, arriving early every day and had to do a few things this morning. And felt that it would be good to get out for a run before breakfast this morning to clear my head.

A bit chillier to decided to wear my long compression tights, long sleeve, windstopper but realized I did not have any gloves.

Oh boy, the wind really bit me in the face and body. I had planned to run around 5K but was not sure if I would cut the distance because I would freeze too much.

There was another runner that stood and stretchen who I said hello too.

After a while my hands got warm.

It felt that I had a good pace today to get home faster to get back home and get warmer 🙂

Distance: 4.01K, time: 23.54.8 min, average heart rate: 141, average pace: 5.57 min/k, max pace: 5.33 min/k, cadence: 182, VO2 Max: 25 ml/kg/min

2.4K Short Run

#14 – 50 runs in 100 days – Keep  Running edition

So we have decided that some of us at work will run together at lunch time and today was going to be the premiere but I got delayed and ended up running my first lunch run alone.

Grey, windy, a bit chiller but since I didn’t know from the beginning I wore my water belt just in case.

I felt my tired legs this weekend and also today when I walked up and down the stairs so I was very surprised how fast I could run, even with tired legs. Maybe I wanted to come back fast to the warm inside 🙂

Distance: 2.40K, time: 13.08 min, average heart rate: 155, average pace: 5.29 min/k, max pace: 4.32 min/k, cadence: 182, VO2 Max: 30 ml/kg/min

5.14K – Flat Run

#30 – 50 runs in 100 days – No excuses edition

Turned out that this run actually is the last run for me in the challenge that ends at midnight. The next challenge said it was going to start April 19th 0.05 but is actually April 20th 0.05.

When I left work the sun came out and it felt good to know that I would run a 5K run when I got back home.

Temperature: 12.5oC (54.5F)

IMG_3565_160419

It was nice getting out even if it was fresh winds.

IMG_3567_160419

The pace was ok, felt that I was influenced by that I was tired. Have not managed to get to bed in time this week but work on it 🙂

IMG_3574_160419

Nice to see the sun out, beginning of this week has been grey.
