9.82K Long Run

#35 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

Was suppose to run yesterday but it took a bit longer running an errand after work so I decided to run that run tonite after work.

Nice weather this week and it suppose to get better, hope it won’t be too warm this weekend when I will do my trail run.

My pulse belt was not my friend, tried to fix it but no success.

Was a bit breathless but not too bad.

Had decided that I would try to run without walking and see what happens when you just decide to do that. Another mile stone today, did not walk at all

IMG_5326_170808

I also ran this run backwards = started with the end first and finished with the start last, good for my brain, did not do any detour this time 🙂

Distance: 9.82K, time: 1.02.17.3, average pace: 6.20 min/k, max pace: 5.13 min/k

25.5K Trail Run

#34 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

I needed to increase the distance and also needed a more hillier train run this weekend.

Last year I ran Backaleden which was 19K from Alunbruket to Haväng and thought that I would have that as a base and planned my route this weekend.

Decided to run the following route

IMG_1062

That would be approximately 25K

Started at 8.40 from Christinehof on the red route and got to Alunbruket where I got a bit confused where to continue but looked at the map and thought that I needed to take to left out on the road and then I saw the orange marker which continued into the woods

Perfect temperature, breeze, chillier but I was not freezing, the sun came out once in a while.

After Alunbruket the orange marker was a new part in this area.

IMG_5281_170805

IMG_5292_170805

I had checked how long I would run thil I would change marker but that did not work

I was suppose to change to yellow at around 4.1 but it was at 5K

The first yellow part was familiar, was part of Backaleden last year

IMG_5293_170805

IMG_5294_170805

I was suppose to change to orange marker at 7.5K but that was at around 9K and it took me some time to find the orange marker at Vantalängan, wandering around a bit til I saw where I had to continue and that was part was also new

On my way to Bengtemölle I would have a 5K blue detour which was magic

IMG_5300_170805

IMG_5299_170805

IMG_5301_170805

On my way to the end of the blue marker I saw a sign saying 200m to Glimmeboda, thought that blue would continue there but that was a detour from the main blue. When I got to Glimmeboda I did not find a blue marker, walked around and then I saw a sign saying ”Strövstig 5K”, this route was 5K so I walked back and saw when I walked back these 200m that I was continuing to the left and then I saw where the orange continued

IMG_5303_170805

I ran on this orange and got to a parking lot and saw three directions I could continue, one would take me back and was of course not right, none said Bengtemölle. I knew that I would run on yellow from Bengtemölle to Brösarp and saw Haväng 6.5K and the distance on my pulse watch said 19K and decided I would continue to Haväng on orange. On this orange marker there were a few times I saw yellow saying Backaleden but continued on orange. The distance was fine but it was more dirt road and asphalt, had to take off the t-shirt and run in sports bra because of the sun.

IMG_5304_170805

Finally I got to the parking lot at Haväng. Very tired legs at the end.

IMG_6479_170805

A little more walking than I had wanted but a nice route.

I have now checked and will do the same route next weekend but will continue on yellow marker when I have continued to Haväng and it shows up the first time so I will run over these hills on yellow last year

Distance: 25.5K, time: 3.56.44h, average heart beat: 136, average pace: 9.18 min/k, max pace: 5.19 min/k, cadence: 154, VO2 Max: 26 ml/kg/min

12.28K Long Run

#32 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

When I walked home from the train station it was stuffy and I wanted to get out for a run as soon as possible. It could be stuffe because it was suppose to rain and could also be thunder.

So I put on linnen, shorts, flipbelt, waterbelt with two water bottles.

I also would follow the route and see if I would have not following the route correctly last time. Since my pulse watch has shown earlier 12.5K but I had followed the route as is.

I decided I would have the same goal tonite as this weekend, run 5K, walk 500m, run 5K, walk 500m.

It did not felt as heavy today as Monday when I ran my 3K run.

At the end of the run I even increased the pace, felt very good.

Did not start to rain either.

Distance: 12.28K, time: 1.26.22.8 h, average heart rate: 140, average pace: 7.02 min/k, max pace: 4.25K, cadence: 168, VO2 Max: 27 ml/kg/min

Improved the finish time with 8 min 🙂

3.24K Lunch Run

#31 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

Since it couldn’t be a run after work since it was going to be delivered a food delivery bag I decided I would run a lunch run instead.

This time I didn’t forget anything in my running back pack 🙂

Ran the route that I have run since I started running a lunch run at work. This time alone which right now is ok.

Today I was breathless even if the pace was around 6.30 min/k.

Realized it was construction work where cars were not allowed to drive but I decided that it would be fine for me as a runner.

Distance: 3.24K, time: 20.12.7 min, average heart rate: 147, average pace: 6.13 min/k, max pace: 4.46 min/k, cadence: 176, VO2 Max: 26 ml/kg/min

22.66K Long Run

#30 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

First we took the car down to Vårhallen where I had time to relax before I went out on my run from Tobiksvik to Borrby Strand.

IMG_5257_170729

Decided that I would run 5K and then 500 m walk.

When I left Simrislund I found where I should have run when I ran to Brantevik and then ran this part today closer to the water which was nice

IMG_5264_170729

IMG_5269_170729

IMG_5270_170729

Just before I got to Brantevik I got drizzle but it actually felt nice when it is a bit warmer

IMG_5271_170729

When I started my third 5K my weak me wanted to give up before 5K but all of a sudden I had run 2K and told myself that it is only 3K left and then I got to 3K, see only 2K and it was 1.5 and 1 and then I managed

IMG_5272_170729

IMG_5275_170729

It was suppose to start raining around 2 pm but it actually started earlier and for a short moment I thought that I might cut the distance but I didn’t mind this rain either and thought that it would stop later on.

When I got to Skillinge I saw a orange marker and was on my walking part when Wille showed up and wondered if I had given up and I told him no, just am walking my 500 m. He continued to Borrby Strand where he would meet me. I saw these yellow markers in plastic but felt that something was wrong when I would continue on the car road, turned back where I saw the last orange marker and when I turned down to the right there the next orange marker, when I crossed the street I missed it but then I was on the right path again. Felt nice when I had run at the side of the road and crossed the road and got closer to the water again

IMG_5276_170729

IMG_5277_170729

Now I started to get tired legs and have to mentally pep myself not to give up til I reached 20K to have my 500 m walk again. Checked where Wille was and thought that I was close and started to run before I had walked 500 m but it turned out it was a bit more.

Interesting was that the route continued on the beach but I had to take a detour because it was some branches in the way and I didn’t want to get wet shoes.

IMG_5278_170729

IMG_5279_170729

Here it was a heavy upwind plus it is tougher running on the beach and had to walk again, thought that I saw Wille and started to run again. Found out later that he had not walked down the beach.

More flatter run this time but close to the water which I liked a lot.

The mandatory swim in the ocead, was cold

Pulse Based Interval Training

#29 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

I have worked from home today and during the day the sun was out and I was looking forward to do my pulse based intervals with a blue sky and sunny. The original plan was to do hilly intervals since I do not have a pulse belt at the moment, I ordered a new one and it could take up to 8 days. To my surprise it knocked on my door and my new pulse belt was delivered 🙂

So of course I had to do pulse based intervals

Later it was grey and heard it was raining north from here and was hoping that it wouldn’t start raining here.

Temperature was 19oC (66.2F) and when I was stepping out on the balcony it felt a bit cold but decided for shorts and t-shirt but also brought two water bottles in my water belt.

IMG_5251_170727

During the 2K warmup it was drizzle but felt nice, not too warm, cooling down the temperature a bit and further up I saw a bit lighter sky 🙂

IMG_5252_170727

Tonite it was back to normal pulse based intervals, the first interval felt tough, felt that I was going on max and was at 154 for a longer time but then got up to 157 (my threshold pulse is 160).  Difference now was that I could be at 158 and not get to 159 soon after that, that has happened lately. The first interval always feels the longest, I guess it is because you have 3 more to go.

Nice with 2 min rest where I walked and took a picture of those lovely sun flowers. I did have any money with me and even if I would it would have been difficult to run around with them 🙂

Second interval felt tough too, was at 152 for a longer time but then ended up at 157 and also was at 158 without getting to 159 very soon after that. Did not get up to 160 when I was running up to the school. Have a tendency to do so when it is a hill but know now that I have to slow down and then I am fine.

Rest for 2 min when I walked

IMG_5253_170727

Third intervals my leg wanted to come home fast, got to 157 much quicker and at two times I was looking away from the pulse watch a bit longer and saw 160 on my pulse watch and hoped that I hadn’t gone above 160.

2 min rest when I walked and then it was just one more to go.

The fourth interval was tough at the end, tired legs and felt that I was running in tar but finally it was over.

Walked first and then it started raining,  much more than drizzle but it was warm rain so I did not mind, usually I do not like to run in the rain but when it is a bit warmer and it rains in the summer it cools things down.

1K cool down.

12.5K Long Run

#28 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

Finally an afternoon and evening without rain and now I could head out on my 12.5K run and I had decided that I would follow a route again with my Suunto pulse watch. Just in case it wouldn’t work I wore my apple watch where I was using the Strava application.

Saw that the temperature was 22oC (71.6F) and decided to wear my water belt with 2 water bottles and was glad I made that decision.

No back pain today and also felt I was doing good but once again the heat killed me again.

IMG_5249_170726

Tried to run as far as I could before I had to walk, that is tough because I felt it in my body, hoped I could make for 5K but had to stop earlier.

I had a hard time breathing in the beginning and removed my t-shirt under my flipbelt and water belt. It helped a bit, had to take off my t-shirt and run in my sports bra, felt running in my sports bra on a city run but it was also liberating.

Wet my hair a few times.

Was basically walking up the hillier parts of this run and then walked a bit after that to catch my breath.

Hilly Intervals

#27 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

The plan today was to run 8 intervals on St Hans hills but I was not sure how tired my legs would be after Thursday’s trail run. The hill that I would up on is approximately 500 m

Stil haven’t found my pulse belt.

Wore running shorts, linnen, water belt and flipbelt.

So I ran up to St Hans hills, rested a bit before I started my first run,  oh boy that was a tough one, felt that I was going on max. Had to catch my breath on the top, drank some water and and then I did 5 pushups and ran down again. Decided that I would do 6 intervals.

Rested before my second interval, it was tough also but I was not as breathless on the top. Drank some water and did 10 situps and ran down again.

There were some other runners where 2 also did hilly intervals running.

Poor guy who was sitting on the top, it looked like he was trying to read something and I had to catch my breath every time I got to the top and had already heavy breathing during the last part of the interval.

This hill starts flat and gets steeper and steeper.

Rested and started my third interval and was very breathless when I got to the top, drank some water and then did 5 pushups. Ran down again.

Rested.

During the fourth interval I started to feel pain in my right knee. Did 10 situps on the top and ran down again.

I was thinking if I would try another interval but decided due to the knee issue that I would stop here so 4 intervals.

Had to walk when I ran home but glad I got out.

Distance: 7.13K, time: 1.01.20.6 h, average pace: 8.36 min/k, max pace: 5.15 min/k, cadence: 160

23.32K Trail Running

#24 – 23.32K Trail Running
#25 – 4.30K Transport to train station
#26 – 3.60K Transport to home

Since the weather is going to be bad this evening, a lot of rain I decided to take the train and bus to Frostavallen and run a longer trail run.

The day started interesting, took the bus to the train station but the bus did not turn left on one street and I was wondering for a second if it was road construction but then I saw blue light from a police car and started to wondering, saw more blue lights from other police cars and streets were blocked. Thought that they were chasing a criminal that was hiding in an apartment since I also saw police men outside an apartment building.

Text messaged Wille and asked him if he had heard anything and he hadn’t but then he text messaged me back, turned out that a maniac had seen an unidentified object under his car and had driven his car to the police station and what the police had to do was to bring in the bomb squad to take a look at the object. I was glad I left town during the day.

Then I got yelled at by the bus driver when I was friendly helping out a passenger about tickets and decided to walk away to a seat, later that passenger thanked me for me being friendly.

Brought two bottles with water with me and started my run.

IMG_5187_170720

The goal today was to walk less and run up more hillier parts than last time.

IMG_5201_170720

Realized again that t-shirt was too hot so I had to take that off and run in my sports bra. Could finally breathe easier. Such a relief.

IMG_5202_170720

Even if it was hot that was a breeze from time to time.

I ran a detour when I got on white, did not pay attention where the next white marker pointed but the area did not seem familiar and turned back.

Then at one part of the route I am crossing the forest between two dirt roads but there they have cut a lot of trees so it does not look familiar anymore, am very familiar with this route and have had problems with following the route on my pulse watch. Walked here since it also are a lot of dry branches and needed to fint the right way, got a bit too far down to the left first and did not want to get more burned on these nasty plants called nettle

IMG_5215_170720

Turned back and finally I find the creek and the narrow path and got to the other dirt road.

It had grown a lot since I was here last time and got confused at one part and was not sure if I was on the right track and turned back, big mistake

IMG_5202_170720

IMG_5203_170720

Felt how it shorched bad on my calf and some on my under arm and cheek, saw a bee stuck on my calf and realized that I have gotten wasp bites. Waved away the nastiest one on my calf. Walked to feel if I had gotten a reaction or not but I seemed fine.

Had to stop and help a family telling them that they could swim at Dagtorps lake if they walked down the blue marker.

They have redirected the blue marker and decided to try the new part, otherwise I run to the right around Dagtorps lake.

Continued my run and then realized that I had to pass these

IMG_5206_170720

They did not look like ”normal” cows, I walked slowly and looked at them to make sure they would not attach me but they started to move away from me.

IMG_5212_170720

Was a bit warm so the heat ”killed” a bit this day and had to walk also because of the heat.

IMG_5216_170720

Was nice being back running in the woods and a longer trail run.

IMG_5223

The transport back to the train station was warm and I drank the rest of the water and hoped that I would be able to fill those water bottles with cold water when I got to the train station.

Saw that a café was open and walked in and asked if the café man could be carnivorous and fill my water bottles with water and he had cold water in bottles in the refrigerator. He saved my day.

Drank cold water on the train and then got out at Stångby train station and ran back home.

Am now very tired in my legs and feet and will rest til Saturday when I plan to do hilly intervals.

Didn’t get my pulse belt after vacation, thinks it is left in the car.

10.68K Beach Running

#23 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

Spending the day at the beach and watching paragliding.

Late lunch and then it was time for a 10K run. Had a plan. Would start on the beach. Run up the dune with pebble, continue on the country road til I had reached 5K and then turn around and run down the dune again and the beach and back to the hotel

IMG_5167_170715

Realized that the country road was a bit shorter than expected, I was not interested to run out on the bigger car road where there were no bike path on the side so instead I saw a gravelled and continued on that and hoped that I would get 5K but no such luck. Saw a narrow path and continued on that one and thought I would end up on the beach again

IMG_5168_170715

Got back on the beach and had to run 1700 m to get to 5K but it was tough so I got to 4.5K and turned around

IMG_5169_170715

The beach was basically fate except for some paragliders

IMG_5170_170715

Best is to run closer to the water where it is harder sand but this time I ran into quicksand and sank down, oh boy did I get extra sand into my shoes? 🙂

IMG_5171_170715

Got back on the second dune.

IMG_5172_170715

When I had run on the dirt road and would turn back on the beach I needed 300 m more and continued on the dirt road and turned back when I had reached 7.5K.

IMG_5173_170715

When I got back on the beach I needed 500 m extra and turned to the left and ran 500 m and back on the beach and ran on the beach til I had reached 9.5K and then ran back to the hotel.

Distance: 10.68K, time: 1.31.19.3 h, average heart rate: 142, average pace: 8.32 min/k, max pace: 5.47 min/k, cadence: 160, VO2 Max: 33 ml/min/kg
