30.1 Trail Run

#7 – 50 Runs in 100 Days – Autumn Edition

Tough week after one week’s cold, started with 9 intervals Wednesday and this morning it was time to run my longer trail run.

IMG_5466_170923

Original plan was 35K, would end the run with some running on Kivik’s hills.

IMG_5467_170923

I was hoping it would’t rain.

IMG_5468_170923

Decided to wear long sleeve, capri tights.

IMG_5469_170923

Temperature: 13oC (F), a bit chilly in the beginning but then I was just fine, perfect weather, not too cold, not too warm.

IMG_5470_170923

It definately had been raining because it was more gooey than 2 weeks ago.

IMG_5471_170923

Also felt that I still was tired after the hilly intervals Wednesday so some walking because of that.

IMG_5472_170923

Trekker weekend again, met some bigger groups during my run.

Once again I had to walk on some parts where there were horses, cows or a mix.

IMG_5476_170923

After the foot path and I had run on the orange marker I heard a birdsong and suspected it could be a bird of prey and I was right. I saw the bird of prey up in a tree which flew away but I couldn’t say which one it was.

IMG_5474_170923

Today it was a calf that was not afraid of me, cows are the animals that runs away when I show up but this calf looked up but did not walk towards me but did not run away either, that was new. But I got aquainted with three horses at the beginning of the orange marker after the foot path.

One of the foals that almost attached my ultra back pack two weeks aga, they were very indescreet, was not afraid but had a distance.

IMG_5477_170923

Then I finally got to Haväng, nice to run near the water. So when I was at Vitamölla I had run approximately 29K and got up on Kivik’s hills. Those hills was a challenge and I got very tired in my calves and felt that I was just fine after 30K so I cut the distance.

And the best, the ”ice cold” swim in the ocean afterwards, my feet was ice cold but the rest of the body was just fine and I did not freeze on the beach when I changed back to regular clothes.

29.34K Trail Run

#3 – 50 Runs in 100 Days – Autumn Edition

This week it has rained since Wednesday afternoon and earlier this week it looked like it was going to rain Saturday. I hoped that that would change.

When I checked Friday it looked like it would not rain today.

Decided that I would run my run from Christinehof to Kivik and if it would start raining I had to take a decision if I would cut the distance or not. Depending on the rain of course, if the temperature is high enough rain can cool me down in a positive way.

Also was not sure how those hilly intervals would affect my run

Temperature at start: 15oC (59F).

On the car ride to Christinehof it rained and I really really hoped it wouldn’t rain when I started and I was lucky.

So glad I brought my longsleeve which was on til I almost was at Haväng. It was cloudy most of the run but near Haväng the sun finally came out.

I thought it was raining from time to time but the creeks fooled me, their noise made me believe it was raining 🙂

Oops here a tree had fallen down on the path so I had to take an alternative way

IMG_5429_170909

IMG_5430_170909

Near Hallamölla, when I had run 5K, I felt the tiredness in my right calf so I had to walk from time to time during the run because of this tired calf, one more day rest would have been the best but it is good to run on tired legs since on the second lap on the race in November I will have tired legs.

IMG_5431_170909

IMG_5432_170909

IMG_5433_170909

It showed cleary today that it had been raining during the week, it was gooey and some puddles.

IMG_5434_170909

When I was on my way to the footpath there were a lot of horses that came running and when one of them saw me and came forward

IMG_5435_170909

The footpath was a bit gooey today

IMG_5436_170909

IMG_5437_170909

I was wondering if the heather would still be as beautiful as last time

IMG_5438_170909

That part still amazes me, I also saw a bird of prey

Then it was time to head back on the orange again, I was not sure if the horses would be back or not but they were and I also had to pass some cows, thought it would be good to walk slowly til I had gotten a good distance between them and me til I started running again

IMG_5439_170909

IMG_5440_170909

Then it was time to get out on the yellow marker to Haväng. On the yellow I had the pleasure of bond with these too curious foal

IMG_5441_170909

IMG_5442_170909

They almost attached my ultra backpack, it was hard getting away from them, when I started to walk to the stone wall the grey foal followed me 🙂

Nice to get to Haväng and see the ocean

IMG_5444_170909

On my way to Vitemölle it looked like it was raining close to Kivik and then it started to rain but great thing today was that I ran the whole beach path without walking, that was a major thing.

Also when I got on the side of the car road I ran a longer part, with tired legs and altra lonepeak trail shoes asphalt is not so funny

IMG_5445_170909

Had to take the mandatory swim in the ocean afterwards even if it was raining and the temperature was around 13oC (55.4F)

Then it was lunch at a new interesting place

25.82 Trail Run

#47 – 50 runs in 100 days – Summer edition

Needed a 25K trail run this weekend and have run from Christinehof to Haväng included the 5K ”strövstig” (footpath) but felt that I could try to find something new. When I asked my running group CKR about if something new a longer run on Österlen someone mentioned Österlen circle but that one was around 40K which is too long at the moment but saw that one part was Vantalängan to Kivik 15k. And from Christinehof to Vantalängan it is almost 10K so I decided to combine those.

IMG_5381_170826

Earlier I have run from Alunbruket to Hallamölla on orange, then yellow to Vantalängan but deciced to run from Alunbruket all the way to Bengtemölle on orange, no footpath today.

IMG_5382_170826

The orange part from Hallamölle started with a longer dirt road but then I was back in the woods again and some steeper hills. Will see what I will do next weekend.

IMG_5383_170826

A bit chillier today when I started, 16oC (60.8F) but I love when it is around this temperature, not too warm, not too cold.

IMG_5384_170826

Felt that I still was tired in my legs after the trail run at Kullaberg last weekend and the hilly intervals Wednesday, have some issues with my right heel and right knee, brought linament but never put it on my knee, so some walking from time to time.

IMG_5385_170826

Then I had decided that I would go on yellow after Bengtemölle because the 6.5K orange to Haväng is too much dirt road and asphalt.

IMG_5388_170826

Some bigger groups of trekkers were out today on the orange marker and we said hi to each other.

IMG_5389_170826

Got down to Haväng where I walked back to the orange marker.

IMG_5390_170826

When I got to the parking lot there was an orange marker showing where I would continue to Kivik but then when I got the next sign place no Kivik, thought that I was going to run near the water to Kivik to Haväng so I saw an orange marker further up with a pinboard and thought that it would say something where to head but it was just a lifebuoy. So I had to sit down, bring out my map but it did not cover to Kivik, then it is when your mobile came in handy, searched for the route and got a name on the map. Headed back to the sign place and saw that I would continue further up.

The last part was first running close to the water with a lot of sand parts and then when it was left 2K asphalt which is not the best with running with Altra shoes.

When I had finished it was time for the mandatory swim in the ocean, lovely when you are warm after a 3-4 hours run and get into the water and cool down.

Then lunch at Bures in Kivik

IMG_5391_170826

Distance: 25.82K, average heart beat: 133, average pace: 8.42 min/k, max pace: 5.13 min/k, cadence: 152, VO2 Max: 26 ml/kg/min

Weight report

Weight loss: 0.8 KG, since I have weighed myself in the afternoon after eating breakfast and lunch I believe that my weight should be lower. But it is going in the right direction, getting closer and closer to 60 KG

16.80K Trail Run

#1 – 16.80 K – 50 Runs in 100 days – Summer edition
#2 – 4.25K – 50 Runs in 100 days – Summer edition

I have been running on green/blue/green marking two times and I felt it was time to increase the distance, was checking the different markers and planned today to run green/white/blue/green marking and was hoping that it would be longer than the green/blue/green.

Was not sure about the weather but took out shorts, t-shirt, compression socks yesterday. When I stepped on the balcony it was a bit chillier and decided to have my capri tights over my shorts and then a long sleeve and see what the weather would be when I got to Frostavallen.

On my way to the train station I realized that I had not checked the trains or the bus to Frostavallen and hoped that the bus would go 10.22 otherwise I was thinking that I either would take the train to Tjörnarp and run a 20K trail run or run 4K to Frostavallen, I needed hillier so if there would not be a bus I would run 4K to Frostavallen. Checked at the train station and realized that the bus left 10.22 from Höörs train station 🙂

Decided to take off the capri tights before I started my run. Kept the long sleeve on because it was a bit windy.

IMG_4766_170525

Realized that I have forgotten my pulse watch at home, glad that I brought the charger so I used the Movescount app today to the route registered.

Started my run and it did not take long til I decided to take off the long sleeve, today I had decided that I would try to run up more hills.

I have run on some of the white marking during Tjörnarparen and some runs in Frostavallen but then I have left white to run to Nyrups Osteria, the first part is hilly but did not know about the rest, turned out it was a good part, more hills and then some flat parts, on my way to blue I scared a lady and I said sorry and also said I know the feeling.

Later when I had visited the toilet before blue she and her husband got back to their car and asked if I would run around Dagtorpssjön (Dagtorps lake) and I said yes and she also said that but you came from that direction, yes I started at Frostavallen and have run green/white. Informed them that the blue marking is a nice treeking route. Couldn’t help myself but had to take off the t-shirt so I was running around with the sports bra the rest of the run. So liberating.

IMG_4767_170525

IMG_4769_170525

For the first time I felt joy running, felt lighter and also felt that I had a good pace. It is definately going in the right direction.

Also thankful that I planned to run today, would’t had wanted to stay inside a day like this.

IMG_4771_170525

In the beginning it was a bit warm but it was also a breeze. Passed some trekkers but no runners. I am wondering where the runners are, I have passed some last year but so far this year I have not seen any other runners.

IMG_4772_170525

Then I put on the t-shirt again and ran 4.26K back to Höörs train station.

Distance: 16.80K, time: 2.26.53 h, average pace: 8.44 min/k, max pace: 3.22 min/k

16.28K Trail Run

#24 – 16.28K trail run
#25 – 4.33K, transport to the train station

Decided last week that I would do a rerun of last week’s trail run, cannot increase the distance to soon in a short time, needs to go slowly to get back in shape.

The goal for today was to run up some of the hills that I walked up last week.

Temperature: 20oC (68F) so shorts, t-shirt and compression socks.

Decided also to sleep in and not have to sit and wait 1h in Höör for the first bus out to Frostavallen.

Was not sure if I had made the right decision with shorts and t-shirt but would found out soon on the trail run if it was right or not.

So I started my trail run which today also would be green/old black

I ran up the first hill that I have walked on last week and it felt great just to do it but I also felt heavy breathing and I just had to take that t-shirt off and run in the sports bra even if I am not a runner who runs in a sports bra and oh man how it felt after the t-shirt was off.

IMG_4737_170520

Even if the running felt much better than last week the heat was killing me today so I had to walk more.

IMG_4739_170520

I did not meet any other runners, I believe that a lot are running Göteborgsvarvet, a half marathon in Gothenburg but it was nice running and hear the birds singing.

IMG_4740_170520

IMG_4742_170520

Drank a lot more water but decided not to wet my hair since I believed that I probably would be in a need of drinking more

IMG_4743_170520

3 bikers came in the other direction on the old black and we said hi and also some Danish trekkers and a couple who were impressed that I was out running but I told them it was warm.

IMG_4744_170520

The last dirt road felt very long and I was not able to run up on any of those hillier parts.

IMG_4747_170520

IMG_4748_170520

This is a special place, here is the third fuel station at the ultra race I run in December. At this point you have 17K left and a lot of the Hektor family is there cheering you on and you can drink coffee and pick up some more energy before you continue on Tjörnarparen.

IMG_4752_170520

Today I saw these, there was a bunch of them earlier but these guy was on his own and didn’t mind getting photographed.

IMG_4754_170520

And finally it was time for Djuralids hill, the worst hill of them all, I have run up this one once when I had made up my mind in advance but today I walked up that hill

IMG_4759_170520

After Djuralids hill you also have this one to conquer

IMG_4760_170520

More bikers and the three bikers I met earlier showed up again and we said hallo again, they recognized me 🙂

Even if I ran St Hans Extreme Thursday I was not as tired in my legs as last week and when I got back to Frostavallen I did not have any tired calves either and no hip problem so I could run a longer part before I had to stop and walk to catch my breath.

Think that the gym has started to show progress now when I am back with hip stability and hip strengthening.

Nice to get back to Frostavallen, 5 minutes slower than last week but also warmer so I was satisfied

After the trail run it was time to head back to Höörs train station so the last run was combined run and walk, got in 5 min before the train would leave so I ran a bit longer before I stopped and then had time to buy a ticket.

These came in handy today and I mean the eyeglass. I had problems last week when I was going to buy a ticket, had to ask a 20 year old girl for help and then I realized when I got home that I had these, bought them on Österlen art round (Österlens konstrunda), I actually bought the sheath but had to buy the eyeglass too but did not know what to do with them. They were in my ultra back pack so I could see the different stations when I bought a ticket 🙂

IMG_4736_170520

And I was right when I felt lighter during the trail run, it was not my imagination

IMG_4763_170520

Lost 1.3 kg (2.87 pounds)  this week 🙂 Keep up the good work and I am soon where I was before I got my second cold that lasted for 5 weeks.

Distance: 16.28K, time: 2.22.57 h, average heart rate: 141. average pace: 8.47 min/k, max pace: 5.03 min/k, cadence: 154, VO2 Max: 36 ml/kg/min.

8.15K Hilly Run

#14 – 50 Runs in 100 days – Spring edition

I have not been active here for a while due to a cough and a irritating and stubborn cough that decided to stay so now it is my 5th week and allergy season. During the week I have been doing some thinking and had to decided if it is a allergy cough now or not and decided to test running for th first time in 5 weeks.

The plan from the beginning was to take the train to Höör and the bus to Frostavallen to run on the green mark but this morning it looked very rainy and decided to run on St Hans hills instead.

Temperature 7oC (45F)

Wore compression tights, long sleeve, windstopper, gloves and hat.

It felt that I had not done so much hilly running lately, breathless running up the hills.

The first was ”Mördarbacken” (=Killing hill) and oh boy. On another hill there was a group who did some type of interval training up a steep part of the top hill.

IMG_4676_170428

I saw one dad with his daughter walking up that hill. Part of the run is was on the verge of breathlessness, need to run there much more if I am going to be shape if I am going to run St Hans Extreme

Even if it felt heavy it was nice being back doing hilly training.

IMG_4679

On my second lap I hear someone shout my name and I turned around and the dad with the daughter turned out to be an ”old” climbing buddy of mine so I just had to stop and talk with him. Did not know he had become a dad, had not seen him for some years. The daugher was 22 months and spoke both Spanish, English and Swedish and a charmer. Nice to catch up and then it was time to finish the run and head home

Gloves and hat got off and also the windstopper twice.

Some ache in one of my hips but did some foamrolling afterwards

results_170428

Distance: 8.15K, time: 1.12.42h, average heart rate: 150, average pace: 8.55 min/k, max pace: 5.45 min/k, cadence: 172, VO2 Max: 35 ml/kg/min

8.2K Hilly Run

#6 – 50 Runs in 100 days – Spring edition

After laundry it was time for a run.

The sun was out, the temperature was 10oC (50F) so not the windstopper compression tights but the ”Fall” compression tights, windstopper and pink long sleeve.

The pulse belt was not my friend today, went back and tried pairing it but no such luch so today I tested my apple watch with GPS and Strava.

Had decided to run two laps on St Hans Hills.

IMG_4558_170311

Today St Hans Hills was crowded by freesbee golfers, saw one other runner at the start but after that I was the only runner.

IMG_4559_170311

With the extra weight I gained during vacation it was tough today, those hills that normally are easy felt awful , the weak me wanted to turn back but the stronger me won today.

IMG_4561_170311

I am  a person who will get up those hills one way or another, even if I have to crawl when I am slow.

IMG_4562_170311

I ran my two laps and the freesbee golfers and I got a long.

A bit gooey and a bit wet but not too slippery.

Distance: 8.2K, time: 59.33 min, average pace: 7.23 min/k, max pace: 3.70 min/k
